Not read the whole of this thread because I wanted to think about what I posted so here goes. I am fucking delighted to have snared a point after that performance! We were truly woeful and just did not retain the ball well. I am not a fan of this new system at all and we looked so much better when we went back to our normal one.

Positives-I am sorry but not many. Tevez by far was my man of the match along with Zab man and Yaya became more and more influential as the game went on.Silva.looked good for the time he was on.

Negatives...:-

Kolarov-fucking woeful-Nothing more to say
Koko the clown-Fucking woeful and completely out of sorts-looked totally overweight.
Milner-Fucking anonymous.

And finally Mr Dzeko-Any baffoon who thinks he is still good enough in this league is deluded. A clinical marksman would have buried that chance in the 86th!! Get rid for me-He has had enough chances. No room for sentiment at this level.

Anyway-2 games 4 pts..We have showed resilience to come back from behind. Hope we get 2 or 3 quality additions this week.

I hope your next shit is a hedgehog.

Fuck off Sam-You tell me where I am wrong. If you think we can rely on fucking Edin when the chips are down then why does he not start before Mario, who is another clown.

I will tell you where you are wrong shall I..

what have all these players got in common..

Messi
ronaldo
Ronaldo
pele
cruyff
platini
zidane
Neymar

They are better than Dzeko but they missed more shots on goal than they ever scored..

players miss ffs if they didnt every game would be a basketball score...you keep harking on about how shit our players are then come on ranting cos they do exactly what you expect them to do.

I shall fuck off now....

Very nice to get Anfield out of the way early doors. No matter what some people say it's one of the hardest gaffs to go to. This is magnified during the opening weeks and when there is a new manager in town to impress.

We we're never going to to go there and walk it, even with our strongest 11. Any city fan who thinks we were is in danger of getting to big for their boots.

We played a new system (352) and had 6 players out who I believe would usually 'start' especially in such a big game (Richards, Clichy, Lescott, Barry, Silva, Aguero) so in effect we were playing an experimental formation with a below full strength team.

At times it looked like the 'unit' had no idea what it was supposed to be doing and the 'tightness' between the defence and midfield wasn't there. I suppose the only way to improve this is to keep on playing (and training) 352.

We also currently have no wide man / winger to bring on to change things up. Risky to sell AJ and not make sure a wide player was added for such a game but hey ho it is what it is. This will surely be addressed this week in the wondow.

Given the above circumstances a point at Anfield is excellent. Let us not forget that we only got a point there last year but also got no points at Swansea, Sunderland, Everton and Arsenal. Nothing is easy in this league and not many teams will go there and win.

Thought Rodwell was very good and his entrance helped to change our shape and allowed Yaya to do what he does best. He was severely unlucky for the 'handball' but we we were also lucky to get our 2nd goal so swings n roundabouts.

We're still a bit rusty and still finding our feet, but with so many key players out I'm pleased with a point.

^Well said.

Lots blaming formation which is rubbish. Players didn't keep the ball today, that simple, pass and move at pace is how we do it, today we didn't.

A positive from today is that we came back from behind twice & were still going for it, trying to snatch the win right until the end. A point at Anfield is not a terrible result.

Some of our passing was very poor today though.

Good points throughout this post

I actually sympathise with Liverpool fans as that was the worst Liverpool team I've ever seen in my life on another day we'd have buried them.

I totally agree, I doubt if Liverpool will put on a better display than that for the rest of the season, I know we can up it another 95%. With regards to the man of the match well that should go to the crowd talk about desperate,

HAND BALL HAND BALL HAND BALL HAND BALL PENALTY PENALTY FREE KICK FREEKICK HAND BALL, strike a light.

Decent point under the circumstances but it highlighted a few areas of concern.

I was excited at the formation following the Chelsea game but it's just leaving us too exposed at the back. Clearly, if we are going to play this system then Kolo Toure has to be nowhere near the three. I'm just not so sure that it suits us now. It restricts Yaya and we looked so much better once he was pushed up the field.

I still honestly can't believe that there are people who believe our pool of strikers cannot be bettered. Aguero and Tevez are fantastic but, as proven today, when we have to rely on Balotelli or Dzeko to start, they clearly don't play at the level that is required often enough. Balotelli because he turns up purely when he fancies it and Dzeko because his touch is just bloody awful at times.

For me, we need a striker and a defender this week if we are to fulfill our potential of retaining the title and making a decent fist of the Champions League campaign.

I was worried when I saw the teamsheet. We were shocking there, Tevez looked the best, Silva looked good when he came on, Zaba shouldn't have been played in a back 3 (we shouldn't even have used a back 3). Toothless at times attacking, weak in defense (but having said that, Kolo had a fairly good game). Milner shouldn't have been responsible for defending, Kolarov shouldn't have been played as a midfielder. Yaya was consistent as always, did as he was told and looked strong going forward when allowed to.

All the problems I think stem from the defensive line today. I appreciate that formations can change mid game depending on how things go, but today didn't reflect that and the players seemed to stick rigidly in place until half time and things changed.

I don't think Mancini got it right today (I don't understand why keep Lescott on the bench instead of alongside Kompany?), and the players didn't perform in the roles they were given. This combined and all other things considered, very happy with a point.

Hard work in training this week I hope, if the 352/532 is going to work it needs a lot more thought put into making it work.

Conceded from 2 set pieces.

Scored from two individual mistakes.

Amateur pundits will have a field day with this. I'm out.

The first was due to two players going for the same ball [early season syndrome] and failing badly [sorry, was in a busy bar looking after my son]. The second was from a joke of a decision followed by a great strike [credit where it's due].

You're a clever man and so why worry about idiot pundits? CTID
