Yup and the whole universe knew before the kick off but our tactician .
FFS playing after 2 days away from home it was like playing with 9 players. Silva had packs of ice on his legs after Sunday's game and I was surprised to see him in starting line up.
Bony and Nacho was an option but what do I know.

This game reminded me of the one before the semi in 2011. Just came up against a side determined to prove a point. I always felt it would be a big ask to go away to the side we beat in the final only days before and get something. Especially when we have only won there once in 30 plus years so not exactly a foray to a happy hunting ground.
The timing of the first goal was a killer, out of nothing when we had just began to assert our control on the game and carve out a couple of openings. I didn't think we played that badly at all up to that point. But goals change games and chasing the game from there meant they had us where they wanted.
I don't blame pellers for going for broke throwing the two strikers on. Massive gamble and didn't pay off. Navas faded in the second half after a bright opening and silva seemed subdued again.
The silver lining I suppose is all above us lost and only Leicester gained a point on us. So it's as you were with a difficult game out the way. Hopefully we start picking up points in the next three games to insert daylight between those below us. At this moment in time I would happily accept a top four finish and a trophy. Very disappointing night though after Sunday.

How did these players become so mentally weak? We used to be the polar opposite with pretty much the same core group of players. But now they are frail and don't even try. We just feebly waved the white flag today. Players like David Silva... what the fuck has happened?? The guy suddenly couldn't give a toss. I don't understand it. It can't ALL be Pellegrini. What has actually happened? It's completely baffling.
