Does anyone live near MIA, I mean really close, close enough to see them coming in really low. If you do, what's it like? I quite like aeroplanes and always wanted to live near the airport for this very reason. I suppose it's a bit of a naive view, and perhaps the noise would get me down after a bit, or the novelty would wear off. But if you do live near the airport, what's it like?

I work there and when we are in our Briefing room, we can see them queued up in the air for landing.

They don't come REALLY close, but close enough!!!

Also, on the train home, if you are lucky, they fly right over and you can see the pilot

I live directly under the flightpath when landing a certain way. I'm used to the noise now. You can also stand on shadowmoss rd in wythenshawe and watch them from about 150 feet, as they land.

I live right near Glasgow airport, to be honest it just makes me depressed seeing the planes fly away, and me not being on it.

Used to live on Ravenscar Crescent ( in the flats when they were there) and also just off Shadowmoss road, it was a pain years ago until they put the double glazing in.

If you`re into planes I`m sure it would be great, but having grown up with them I suppose I just got used to seeing them all the time, a bit like living near a busy road, what was odd though, if we had friends or family round who lived far away, they`d often just stand there dumbstruck pointing up at the planes, (a bit like people in Bolton do now), sh1t if you were playing football and they were in your net.

I live on the flight path and they are pretty low over our house, been here a few years and still get a buzz when the big planes come in or go out, looking for to next week when the A380 starts coming in.
Regarding the noise you get used to it to the point where you don't even notice it, it was more noticeable when the ash cloud was about, the silence was strange.

Good point. It was eerily quiet when the ash cloud closed airspace
