Liz Truss

It’s almost as if it’s a deliberate ploy to ruin the economy rather than face the fact that during Covid Boris wasted billions to help his friends. Truss and co. are fall guys it’s a drama being played out with our money.
Hunt is a caretaker PM he is not elected yet he’s going to make savings that they were not elected to do.
Tighten our belts and freeze it’s going to be a long winter they could have stopped the Energy giants from making huge profits while the drama plays out
They are not fall guys. These people were and are the architects of Brexit (she’s just unprincipled enough to have ridden the wave), and the economic travesty befalling the country is largely of their own making. It’s the elephant in the room but because people can’t afford to turn the lights on, it continues to go unnoticed.

The markets wobbled a bit again yesterday after her "speech." Just the fact that she reappeared and opened her mouth was enough.
This shouldn't be about the Tory party now (although of course it will be), it should be for the sake of the country. She needs to go, and soon.
Hunt is assuming an almost funereal tone as he goes from interview to interview, spelling out the hardships ahead and preparing the country for ‘regime change’. The situation is becoming so serious that we‘ll be told we need the best talents back in Cabinet, which will be the green light for jettisoning the ERG ‘talents’. Only question is whether Truss goes first.

Yes, that makes sense.
I'm surprised JRM is still there to be honest though. Maybe he and Truss will go at the same time.

Rishi was right all along , even a thick cow like me understood what he was saying and why her plans wouldnt work , feel so much for those that now have ginormous mortages.

My first house was in the late 80's and we lost 16k because of negative equity , it was a nightmare
Compared to those who bought in the 1980s, mortgages now are hardly ginormous*, are they?

*I reserve the right to amend this post next year (or maybe even next week…).

No they won't. They can do whatever they like, another two years before they have to go to the polls. Install the 'dream team', Rishi and Penny and brass it out. Hope it comes good in two years. They don't give flying f..k about 'optics' at the moment.
Doesn’t look like they are using an optic. Haven’t been for quite a while. At least previously they were just heavy handed pouring at least doubles if not trebles.

Now they seem to be slugging straight from the bottle.

They are though in real terms.

Repayments @15% of a £100k mortgage would be much less than interest @6% on a £250k+ mortgage.

Yes, that makes sense.

This is Rees-Mogg’s last hurrah in Government, but I doubt he’ll resign; he probably thinks his unswerving loyalty to the Government precludes him from doing so. He’ll wait to be reshuffled out before returning to his chaise longue.
