Not sure that argument, whilst correct, has much probative value. Firstly because the Tories are going to lose the next election irrespective; and secondly, because our wanky electoral system tends to exaggerate losses in a general election vs actual votes cast. They still would have got about 25% of the vote though, which undermines your argument about the intelligence of the electorate somewhat.I’d like to think that if she was the Tory nominee in the general election, rather than being ushered in by a small group of tories, that we wouldn’t have elected her.
I’m not as down on this country as a lot on here seem to be, and I’m giving us the intellectual credit that she wouldn’t have been elected.
The fact anyone would even consider voting for a party of which she was leader is truly incredible. She really is that bad. There are spice heads in Piccadilly Gardens better suited to the job.
