Liz Truss

Trotski ‍♂️
LOL. We're of a similar vintage Ian. Compare this incompetent, economically illiterate, self-serving bunch of cliché-spouting mediocrities with the Conservative political giants of the recent past - Thatcher, Whitelaw, Howe, Lawson, Heseltine, Carrington, Brittan, Lord Hailsham, etc.

How can any genuine Conservative not be ashamed of how their party is today? They make the equally mediocre opposition look like political giants.

It's frankly bizarre how somebody can be so roundly ridiculed by pretty much the entire world and yet still have this kind of unwavering confidence in themselves and their convictions. How many ways does something have to go wrong for her to consider that her approach was even the slightest bit suboptimal?

She could be watching the Hindenburg burn and she'd still be wittering on about the merits of hydrogen airships.

I thought it was just her demeanour but I'm beginning to think she must actually be an android devoid of human emotion.
She’s almost certainly clinically insane.

That someone so lacking in intellect, self-awareness and judgement made it to that Office of State shows how far we have fallen as a nation.

The likes of her and Boris are emboldened by the lack of general competence and leadership in the party. If sunak and co were looking like doing a half decent job they would both just slink off to take up corporate directorships.

They think they can get away with it because everyone else has. This government has spent years eroding the standards of office.

Sunak got away with his wife not paying tax.

Patel got away with bullying her staff.

Braverman got away with leaking classified documents to her paymasters.

Grant Schapps is literally a con man who ran a ponzi scheme and had second jobs under a pseudonym while being a minister.

Johnson got away with a dozen scandals. Illegal prorogation. Giving government funds to his mistress. Backing Cummings after the lockdown breaches. Changing parliamentary rules to defend Owen Paterson. 20 parties in Downing Street and let’s not forget Chris Pincher.

Raab is in the process of getting away with loads of bullying complaints.

Zahawi would have gotten away with tax evasion while being chancellor and intimidating every journalist that investigated it if weren’t for the fact he finally came up against the only journalist who was previously a millionaire tax lawyer from Clifford Chance who knew a SLAPP lawsuit when he saw one and called his bluff.

Those are just the ones I remember from the cabinet, I know there’s more.

Why can’t Liz Truss come back if they all get away with everything?

Here we go again.
All the same.
No doubt will be voting for these cunts again come the next election whilst pretending to not vote at all.

I find it exhausting too.

I’ve decided that people must just hate having opinions that are more nuanced than swathing generalisations because it is part of our in-built tribalism. We tend to avoid complexity to make our lives easier.

There are 650 MPs. I’ve met several. Like in any walk of life they are all very different types of people. You cannot compare the likes of Truss to somebody like Caroline Lucas (just for example), they are polar opposites as people.

The world will become a much better place the very instant people stop taking these asinine and unhelpful black and white stances.

The fact that anyone, let alone a substantial minority, thinks that Liz Truss is fit to be PM says it all.

I don't even think it's tribalism. I mean, I support City, but I still think Lee Bradbury was a shit footballer.
They’re both 47.

Maybe those forty games weren’t long enough to convince you and the rest of the Maine Road establishment...

81,326 Conservative Party members don’t constitute a substantial minority. They constitute 0.175% of the electorate which is at best a fringe pressure group. That’s a demonstration of how ludicrous it is that she ever became PM. At least Johnson and May won elections, and Sunak was appointed by people who had been put in place by the electorate.
