By saying Messi isn't signing for City, I think that makes me more ITK than most so-called ITKs on here who seem to have a frightfully low success rate with their "insider knowledge".
by all means rush out and put money on this. i might. we'll probably win.
does that make us ITK in any way though? no, it just makes us better gamblers.
imagine this: you meet Garry Cook in a pub. or the groundsman in the story in the OP is actually Garry in groundsman drag. imagine, if you will, that this really happens, regardless of how absurd or surreal it sounds.
our saintly Garry hands YOU the Golden Napkin. it has all Garry's plans, targets, etc. he even tells you about a couple of done deals, but like most genie in a bottle stories there's a catch: the targets haven't actually signed on the dotted line yet, regardless of how much sunshine they've pumped up our saintly Garry's backside about how certain they are to join us. the net effect is this: even if you ARE Garry Cook, you're not "ITK" in the sense of being able to predict exactly who we'll sign, and if you're Cook you're very likely to be overconfident (if you're too much of a 'realist' you'd be in the wrong job, nobody does the impossible without believing they can and will).
so if Garry Cook, who has plenty of knowledge of our targets and presumably intimate knowledge of the state of all negotiations, isn't ITK in the sense of knowing exactly who we'll sign, well... who is? that depends.... do you believe in God?
so that, in effect, is why i think the type of attention whores* who attack ITKs (and even fake ITKs) so that they can look/feel clever are about as interesting as someone who jumps to his feet in a movie theater and reminds people that the stuff on screen is just a movie and not actually happening.
*not referring to you by this, LoveCity, i chose your post to launch my rant because both you and i are openly KFA, yet if City *is* targeting Messi i really do believe we have better odds of predicting the outcome than Garry Cook.
