London is a ***** hole

It's like anywhere else, it has good parts, like Fulham, Putney, Hampstead, and shite parts eg Brixton, Croydon etc.

To make a sweeping generalisation about what is in effect a huge collection of small towns populated by people of all nationalities is plain stupid.

I agree Tommy, place is very busy and crowded and has good areas and bad ones, some are side by side, Stoke Newington and Dalston for example. I love the diversity but agree on the tourists bit especially when they stop DEAD in front of you when you are out and about. And what's this runing down escalators all about? There will be another tube in three fooking minutes, morons !

Yes, that sort of behaviour can get you shot!

I'd be interested to know what the five stars in the thread title stand for. I assume it doesn't relate to the hotel rating system!!

I like London, you are never stuck for something to do.

Nothing like it for a bit of culture. But sure if someone only focuses on the negative all the time, they'll only see the negative in life.

Full of tourists and southerners !

I wonder if he has actually spent any time there?
I think he has spent a little time here but nothing substantial, it took me a bit of time to get used to the hustle and bustle but I did move from Dumfries, SW Scotland which is sedate to say the least
