Looking down on 'glory hunters' is arrogance

Good for you Pudge, and respect to you ' Why always Ste'

I'm afraid I've not got the right keyboard for Konobok!
But, as before if you wanna get to a game , a ticket is on me, see you there flower!

It's the transitional years, when the "went to york" meet the "where is york" City fans, and everyone gets to know each other.

Guess it happens when a club goes big time?!?!?

as long as they dont take the place of a true long standing city fan ie price the fans out and replace them like what happened at liverpool, united, chelsea, arsenal, hopefully it doesnt happen to us.

btw the only people who are defending glory hunters on this thread, only supported us when we turned good and arent from manchester ;)

If they are glory hunters they can f*** off as far as i'm concerned. If they support the club, and will do for life whether or not we perform well on the pitch, then i welcome them.

As for the Bosnians, the majority will be gone when Dzeko leaves.

People start to support football clubs for a number of reasons. Some are taken by a family member when they are a small child and stick with it.Some decide they will go to a match, try a few clubs and like the atmosphere and the way they are treated at one club more than others and stay with that one.Others get an interest in football and pop along to their local club, enjoy the crack and keep going.

Others will be drawn by the glamour, excitement, success and exposure of a club and tag along with that one.Let's be honest if you have no local or family ties to any particular club but want one to 'support', you are hardly likely to get excited by one in the doldums are you? No,you will be attracted to one winning things, playing exciting football and/or certain world class players.

It is a fact of life and if we remain succesful our wordwide fan base will grow.We can't stop it and if we want to become a bigger club, extend the ground, increase attendances and revenue to continue to buy the best players it HAS to happen.

The main uproar over this were the selling of corporate tickets for United away a couple of years ago. How would you really feel if somebody who likes City because they're good on FIFA got a ticket for the 6-1 instead of you? If fans buy shirts they can whinge on the facebook page all they like, but just don't displace proper fans.

And yes, I said proper fans. Does that mean I'm arrogant? No, it means I don't appreciate fair weather fans.

I was talking more about match goers tbh mate. My point remains though, glory hunters are a horrible disease in football. I'd rather not have the "follower" if they jump ship as soon as we perform worse. Foreigners are understandable, its the UK based fans that should follow the team they have an affiliation with, not because we are winning the league.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with say 'International fans' as some would say, the club needs them. If they were drawn to the club after "that" goal then so be it; you have to start somewhere.

Something that might get on people's nerves is a person who has switched allegiances; an adult as kids can be forgiven. I've never understood how someone can just switch teams.

Along with those that Damocles has described.

But even then, the club needs them if we want to compete on a global level.

Agree with that, seeing united fans when Ive visited london everywhere is just a joke. Go and support arsenal !!!!! saw it a anfiled when I went last season the proper scouser and liverpool fans have been replaced by an army of day trippers, feel sorry for the proper fans
