Losing My Job

I have been through this before although at big companies - some things don't sound right. Is it a small place?

Technically they only have to pay you statutory and 3 months is a much better deal. Question is it 15 weeks pay and you go or is it 15 weeks gardening leave? Paid up is better.

If they mess this up from a legal / technical perspective you can make a claim and potentially get more out of them - but it's a massive pain in the ass going through the process. Strongly suggest you take the money and find a new job. The best advice is from a law firm but this is ambulance chaser work and i would be very careful, they will all talk you into making a claim. Only open this door if you feel like they have genuinely shafted you. Otherwise the lawyers are just after something to charge fee's on and what ever you get out won't be worth the hassle.

Hi mate.

Thanks for the sound advice firstly. It is pretty much how I see it with whatever I say tomorrow being completely irrelevant. They are offering me two months redundancy and two weeks pay (one for every year I have been with the company) and I am assuming that I will be out at the end of May with the already mentioned redundancy and other payment. I am going to try and spin them for another weeks pay as I have been there for two and-a-half years service.

Why would you want advice on here when it’s such an important decision affecting your future!! Mad

Have they asked you to get your deal reviewed by a solicitor before you sign it? If so they should offer you a sum for a solicitor to do this. They will tell you if the deal is legit or if it isn't. Generally if it isn't, like mine last year. I was paid extra in my package which made it worth my while not going to court. Someone else said it. They want rid of you, they dont give two flying whatnots. Go see a solicitor, esp if they are paying!

I just wanted a general opinion on the shitty situation I currently find myself in, that was all mate. If any mods want to close the thread, then please do.

Thanks mate. Will bear it in mind.

Ignore him he’s a ****. Although he has a point. Normally whatever the situation faced by the OP, the replies on BM usually involve burning things or smashing things/people

They want you out end of, and don’t ever think these companies regret letting staff go, they just use people till they no longer require you, ive always said your better off not climbing the ladder cos your getting nearer the door .
Unless you're a window cleaner or Fred Dibnah.
Or Ms Fritzel.

My advice is not to brick any windows or torch anything until the redundancy money has been lodged in his account.
