Lost my mum today.

I'm still up, drinking my stock of Guinness. I can't remember the last time I cried so much.
So sorry for your loss blue, must admit I was welling up reading that great opening post on your Mum. You spent a lot of special times with her that you will cherish, chin up blue, take care.

Recently I've been there every week. With my dodgy firestick so she can watch the United games. She loved it. Me, not so much, obviously. I'd busy myself with jobs off the list.
You know, to see the smile on her face when United run out, to be honest, made me happy that she was happy.

Had a call to say she wasn't answering her phone.
I left work and went round, she had fallen and had passed away.
She had turned the lights and telly off and was on her way to bed.
She fell last week and I offered to stay with her for a few days but she said no.
I feel so guilty, I should have insisted. She was 89.
I'm fucking gutted. If I'd been there it might not have happened.
She was a lovely, kind woman, never judged anyone or anything.
She grew up with nothing, yet spent the latter years of her life working in a charity shop.
Born in alty, as was I, she was a red, and loved United as much as I love city. Her dad was blue, so i guessed she rebelled, as i did. She didn't mind at all that I chose city.
We watched the Derby together on Sunday, I don't begrudge her that win, and she never ever gloated.
We watched it hand in hand, I think she knew her time was near.
She was almost happy for city's successful recent years, she had seen enough red success to last a lifetime.
I'm so sad, when my dad went I didn't lose my dad, because he had dementia, I lost the guy that used to be my dad. Somehow that made it easier.
I've lost a wonderful human being that I'm so lucky to have had as a mum.
Sorry for the long type, I just needed to let it out.
RIP Sylvia
Sorry for your loss mate

Really feel for you mate and from someone who had lost both parents I can understand what you are going through . Just focus on the great memories you had as your mum will be looking down proud of what you have become .

I'm doing similar with my mother in law. She's in care home with Parkinson's dementia. Always supported Tottenham so if I'm not watching City I go to visit and let her watch them. We pick a score (I always pick them to lose) she always forgets what she picks. The carers say only thing she remembers all week is what day they are playing though can never remember what time so as soon as she's had breakfast she's mithering them asking what time I'll be there. Sorry for your loss mate
