Loudest noise at a City match

There's been so many lately and a lot have been mentioned, but for me actually being there, my standouts for noise, jubilation and bedlam are:

FA Cup semi - 1981
A promotion party (& first time on the pitch) vs Charlton - 1985
The massacre - 1989
FA Cup semi - 2011
Vinny vs the rags - 2012
93:20 - 2012
Jesus @ Southampton - 2018
Vinny vs Leicester - 2019
Rodri vs Villa - 2022
Bernardo's first vs R.Madrid - 2023

To this day, i dont actually remember sergios goal . It wasnt in my memory immediately after he scored.
I can remember grabbing my dad in CB3 and just saying “weve won the league” repeatedly. But the goal itself, nope, nothing. Was sat on the train on the way home and had to ask what the goal was like. Weird

Dont know about the loudest stadium roar but i screamed that much when vinny scored against leicester i went dizzy. I felt the league was slipping away til he snotted that one in.

Same with the sane goal v liverpool , i knew, even though there was still 5 months of the season left, that it was a title clincher.

Wigan 99 play-off semi-final is one of the loudest.
The atmosphere that night at Maine Road was something else wasnt it
and would get my vote. To me it was a combination of pent up anxiety, adrenaline and genuine proper passionate support.
Over the years I've watched the highlights of the Wigan play off Semi a few times. Sometimes the atmosphere at the actual match doesn't always come over particularly well on TV but it certainly did for the Wigan Play off Semi Final. You could perhaps argue that the pitch invasion was maybe a little over the top for what we had 'achieved' but I think it was as much as anything an outpouring of emotion.
Can't remember too much about the first 90 minutes at Wembley (that was The Green Man's fault) but when Dickov scored it
was a manic outpouring of emotion and relef. As someone has already said when the Gills penalties were being missed the booing and whistling was quite deafening.
Ofcourse we have had better moments in terms of what we have achieved and probably better celebrations and appreciation of the quality of what we have seen. However the actual noise and emotion of those 2 matches back in 99 that came from the desperation to escape that bloody division takes some beating!

Also that night there was a United fan on one of the Wigan coaches on the conch park at the back of the kippax winding City fans up with his United shirt on. A few lads waited for him to get off and he refused to leave the coach at that point. Smug **** thought he was really funny till it dawned on him he had to leave the coach at some point. Then back tracked and his mates had to offer a grovelling apology on his behalf. It was funny seeing him shit himself.

It’s wankers like that I wish I could see against to see how he’s coping with the power shift in Manchester.

I’m with you though in that it was something special that night.

Emotional remembering some of these occasions, but for sheer sustained noise the Hamburg match will always stay with me.

It was a fantastic atmosphere. Their manager Martin Jol said they were shocked by it and it took them by surprise. I really thought we'd win the cup that year, everyone was buzzing then Hart let that soft shot in.
The Madrid semi final was great too.

1981 FA Cuo Semi Final is still one of my favourites.
Although I hope we never get entitled enough to think we should be in every domestic cup final it isn't really a huge surprise when we get to an FA or League Cup final. That day I remember it being a very big deal to get to Wembley.
Most people expected Ipswich to beat us at Villa Park as they were going for the double and the game in truth ike many Semi finals and finals was a bit shit really.
When Paul Power curled in that beauty (which is often referred to as a free kick but Steve Mackenzie actually took the free kick didn't he) it was absolute manic celebrations on The Holte End . After the goal i still remember how loud it was for the rest of the game (the volume turned up to 111 let alone 11!). Like at Blackburn a couple of decades later it also seemed that there were (very vocal) blues everywhere. One thing I alsi clearly remember was how many times Gerry Gow's name was sang by the City fans.
Shortly afterwards I remember Joe Corrigan saying that it was the loudest noise he had heard coming from City fans in his career.
