Loudest noise at a City match

1981 FA Cuo Semi Final is still one of my favourites.
Although I hope we never get entitled enough to think we should be in every domestic cup final it isn't really a huge surprise when we get to an FA or League Cup final. That day I remember it being a very big deal to get to Wembley.
Most people expected Ipswich to beat us at Villa Park as they were going for the double and the game in truth ike many Semi finals and finals was a bit shit really.
When Paul Power curled in that beauty (which is often referred to as a free kick but Steve Mackenzie actually took the free kick didn't he) it was absolute manic celebrations on The Holte End . After the goal i still remember how loud it was for the rest of the game (the volume turned up to 111 let alone 11!). Like at Blackburn a couple of decades later it also seemed that there were (very vocal) blues everywhere. One thing I alsi clearly remember was how many times Gerry Gow's name was sang by the City fans.
Shortly afterwards I remember Joe Corrigan saying that it was the loudest noise he had heard coming from City fans in his career.
Remember it very fondly. The celebrations and noise were amazing hut I still think when we scored 2 in 2 mins v Everton that was even louder and better

When Sergio smashed that goal in against QPR never heard anything like it plus Nasri’s goal against Sunderland at Wembley a few Mackems I’ve spoke to about that have said it was ear piercing when that went in

Sergio’s goal against the dippers when we beat them 2-1 to effectively win the title and stop them being invincible’s
There was a split second silence of disbelief before the noise exploded.
Absolutely fucking awesome strike that was.

GMR commentary running 30 seconds behind the game blasting around the North Stand was really loud and annoyed me greatly.

Saw an old mate on Saturday who I’d not seen in a while. We were talking about Istanbul and we both thought the roar inside the ground when Godri scored was the loudest noise we had ever heard at a football match. However when you watch it back on tv it doesn’t sound anything as loud as it did inside the stadium. I know Hughes said the Aguero goal v qpr was the loudest noise he’d ever heard in football, but I thought Istanbul. So many iconic moments but wondering which others thought was the loudest
Is that a nickname for Rodri he is a god your right there

If I had to pick I’d go for the Nasri goal at Wembley in the final to make it 2-1 straight after the equaliser. That was summet else.

But top spot goes to that Birmingham Friday night game in the promotion season in 2000. The game before Blackburn. 1-0 Bob Taylor. I think we gave Birmingham a reduced allocation so we could squeeze a few more fans in. Maybe someone could correct me if I’m wrong on that.

Was only 17 and just remember the whole game, not just the goal, being loud as fuck.
