Made money for a Children's hospice
Raised money for the club
Made a young mans dream come true (no - not me)

and

made 6000 young girls delirious.

where is the down side
Hes turned the club into a sideshow

I am sure the club are delighted with their raised profile.

On a side issue , the standard of football was high and he was lucky he was given a minder for the 25 minutes he played.

He looked overawed TBH and I think this was a one off.
It wasnt a charity match ? But a cup/league game?

It was a league fixture and a pretty feisty local Derby at that.

He will not do it again in a hurry.

If he does , he will be snapped in 2.

He seems genuinely ecstatic he played for the team he supports.

Exactly. No fan of his, but he's lived a dream most of us have had, and made a few quid for charity in the process.

I don't understand why people have an issue with this.

Because the purpose of sport is to win games. Not fulfil celebs dreams.

From the clips I've seen he's got a touch of Ferdinand about him, from two nights ago.

From what I saw wee Davey will be putting a bid in for him very soon.

Never heard of the bastard. What's this "Fame" in the thread title?
Don't understand comments like this. Nobody expects you to like them, nobody expects you to support this PR stunt (I sure don't) however to say you've not head of One Direction is quite frankly absurd. They're everywhere, like it or not, they're pretty fucking big.

Was fuming about this and was gonna look out for doncaster in the future in the hope that they would lose but seen as it's raised money for charity then, yea ok I suppose. Hopefully it raised a decent amount considering it's completely embarrassed the sport of football

Find this 'aww int it cute a young kid fulfilling his dreams' just as embarrassing too

It wasn't the big team, it was the rezzies so the results don't matter.
