Low cost airlines, love 'em or hate 'em

Do exactly as they say on the tin. Any flights over 4 hours mind I prefer the bells and whistles airlines.

I like going over to Ireland because the flight costs are cheaper than some short hop train fares over here.

I used to think Michael was a sound lad but in light of his refund debacles during Covid he's gone down in my estimation and to be honest wouldnt have the confidence to hand over our money. Outside pandemic I would use them if the fare was low, but when you factor in all their added extras other airlines like Easyjet can offer better value. Speaking of Easyjet it's such a great shame they binned their free 10k carry on luggage policy as this made for an excellent cost advantage for shorter trips.

As an adendum Ryanair are using the 737 Max but currently only have three operational from London. Yes they have been designated safe to fly but if I was afforded the choice I would prefer not to do so until it's earned it's wings. TUI have also started using them flying out of Manchester Birmingham and London this summer but are happy to disclose the type of aircraft you fly on through your the my booking section. TUI have pledged that any passenger not happy about flying on the 737-MAX would be given the option to change bookings. They have assured their customers that if they don’t want to fly on the MAX when their holiday approaches, they won’t have to and can change their bookings or discuss their options further.

A mention in dispatches to Jet2 who are currently offering some fantastic deals in Europe and if you register with them you can get regualar coupons for 15% off return flights.

The Max aircraft type are easily recognised by their tiger teeth cowlings.

I always use EasyJet’s “hands free” for my bags. £7 gets me priority boarding, large bag in the hold and first on the conveyor at the other end.
Well worth being able to saunter on with just hand baggage.

As for the MAX Ryanair have the biggest order in the world for them. Over 200 have been ordered by the Ryanair group.

Boeing must be almost giving them away

I have no problem with Ryanair. Only once have I had a serious delay with them; the weekend of the Huddersfield 0-0 game when we were presented with the PL trophy in the Centurions season. 4 hrs late taking off. Yes, it's fairly basic, but you get what you pay for. I'm over for the Saints game next month; Knock-Manchester.....

Can't complain at €50/£43. And if I didn't choose a seat, having one assigned to me instead, it'd be down to €38.And it's only an hour of a flight. I can slum it for an hour!

You get what you pay for.
So long as I don't have to fly the thing (to further reduce the fare) I'm happy!
I have thought about the option of food and drink whilst travelling.
Normally a Boots meal deal at the airport before departure will suffice.
If I get peckish on the flight I consider what the normal airfare would be, add the price of the toastie onto the budget airfare, and I'm still quids in!

I order and pay for a hot toastie and drink online when I fly with EasyJet.
You get a discount and you get served before they even start coming round with the trolley.
It’s great seeing everyone thinking “how the fuck has he got that”.

Ahh, so you like pissing people off ?

I honestly think you have to be an idiot and/or a narcissist to get fined like people do on low cost airlines, and then moan about it. I’ve flown a hell of a lot with them all, and they’re always fine. EasyJet are my favourite but I like the “just get on and sit down” attitude of RyanAir at times too. Jet2 are brilliant.
Before Covid you could get Ryan Air flights to brilliant European destinations cheaper than you could get a taxi home from Manchester, yet people complained.
Mcr to Euston is a hundred quid return on the train at the weekend. Oleary will get you to Rome and back for less but people moan because he charges you for a cheese sarny.
