Loyalty Point System

Always said the loyalty points system is a joke.

Any City fan that lives outside of Manchester gets screwed. At the Semi the guy i was sat next to was from Cowplain in Portsmouth. Tell me how he is meant to make home cup games?

Take us lot that live in Scotland, we've got it even worse. The nearest ground to me is St James' Park, which is roughly 1hr 45mins away from my house. So there is 3 hours travelling to the nearest away ground.

To home games i spend around 6 hours travelling back and forth to the ground. Now im not trying to make out that i'm more loyal than any other fan, cos there are some real true blues on this forum, but i wouldn't mind some recognition for the amount of travelling that not just me, but alot of the supporters do.

There are thousands of out of town Rags that manage to get to Old Trafford every other week by some means or other!

Seriously, it is tough on those that are logistically challenged but I'm not sure how the club can be expected to cater for everyone's individual circumstances.

what ur forgetting is when we all started going we had 0 points, taken me 25 years of following city to get were i am points wise. I couldnt get an away ticket at first, just kept going home games til u amass enuff points

Exactly, if you live near the ground, brilliant, if circumstances dictate that you live far away then you have to deal with it. I've lived in Scotland/Finland since 1996 and have well over 5000 points, you have to arrange finances/work etc around City - otherwise its the telly.

Can I check something with everyone else ?

A few people on this thread say that they have been building-up loyalty points for 20+ years ... I have been a season-ticket holder for over 20 years and went to lots of individual games before that ... but according to the City website, my loyalty points started again at 0 in 2003. I assumed that they reset the loyalty points when we moved to COMS in 2003 ...

... but am I wrong ? Should I have been credited with something for my earlier years ?

Loyalty points system only came in when we moved to the new ground I think.

Loyalty points were not awarded 20 years ago

But it does smack of double standards when people get given 100 LP's for attending since the takeover, yet those who attended 30+ cup games during the 80's and 90's, when we were dire and had f.a. chance of anything, get nowt.

Thanks, everyone - puts my mind at rest that at least I haven't been diddled out of some points somewhere along the line ... although my online 'purchase history' does seem to be full of "test" entries and various zero-point entries, which you'd think the club would delete (or at least hide) after their tests ?
