Loyalty Point System

Three games for which 60 points are available. You are having a laugh.

A 16 year old kid - whose parents have not been able to take him to the match - starts out now 3500 points behind the adults/spoiled kids who will be at the final. If those who are at the final don't go to another City away game for another 5/6/7 years but retain their seasoncard, and this 16 year old kid goes to all the away games, he will still not be able to support his beloved City in a final that takes place 5/6/7 years from now. That is not right.

Due to my work I was overseas for 10 years(having had a season ticket for many years before that), I returned 2 1/2 years ago and have built up well overl 4000 points in that time. so you can catch people pretty quickly.

You're talking shit.

Have spoken to a lot of rag friends and most admire our points based scheme, they hate the randomness of ballots, which are weighted towards who the club deem suitable for receiving them.
It's only a matter of time before the current scheme is ended, focusing on a fixed point of time 10 years ago may suit a lot of people (me included), but that will change, there is no doubt about it.
Hopefully the club will retain an element of the current scheme, and take into account our history, we shall see...

i dont know if this has been mentioned . if it has then i apologise. inevitably its all gonna come down to money in the end so why cant fans buy loyalty points as in if you want to climb the list you simply go to the ticket office and write a cheque. for instance a 40 quid away ticket gets you 20 points so give em 400 quid and acquire 200 points.

Would've prefered to do that than watch the shite at Liverpool. Seriously tho', I ain't paying for points, there's no need. Everton is still on sale to anybody, no escuses. I got my tickets when they first went on sale, any 1000pointer can get one now, but they don't. They just want everone to step aside and allow them to Wembley. No better than the gloryhunting rags in my opinion

i appreciate that but mcfc is a business so if i want to jump the list in order to have a chance for the big games then surely going to the ticket office and writing a cheque for 5 grand is showing loyalty. at the end of the day they want your money, not your loyalty.

Correct. They could do that. Can you then imagine te outcry on here? "I've been going home and away for 40 years and some JCL gives the club £5000 and can get a ticket before me"

The loyalty points scheme is fine, as mentioned those that want to change invariably haven't got a huge amount of points. Fairly typical of todays want in now society.

I've got 5200 points built up over the years I'm early forties. I've had a season ticket since I was about 18. I used to go to alot of aways but not anymore due to family commitments and work, so people will catch me up. I've no issues with that. In time if we're successful I'll struggle to get tickets unless I start going regularly again (Away that is!)

My lad is 12 and he's got 4175 points he'd have no problem getting a ticket in his own right for the Final and the reason he's got that many points is he goes to the game with me and has been for years, he's had a season ticket since we moved and he went to games at Maine Road.

As pointed out we've not sold out at a lot of games away this season, including some fairly recent games, are the people moaning going to those games? Cos if you're not you've only got yourself to blame.

I think we might see some of the less popular games (like this years Europa league home games) better attended next season. People didn't probably think that this situation would occur. Unfortunately for those who haven't got a ticket it is especially disappointing as this could be the game where the club truly turns the corner. Go to as many games as you can and build up those points blues. The future is bright and we all want to be a part of it.

youve got to ask yourself do mcfc want a fan of 40 years with 7000 points picking and choosing his games or a guy willing to plow thousands into the club now in order to go to games. harsh reality is the latter unfortunately
