Luca Barrington

Not a scooby myself but from The Guardian article itself (sorry Marvin ;) ):-

A local lad, who has been at the club since the age of six, Barrington loves to drift in from either flank to score, as he did for a close range finish in the under-18s' season-opening 3-0 win over Manchester United, his debut for Ben Wilkinson's side. Two-footed, rangy and with a penchant for dribbling, Barrington, who already has his own Instagram fan-page, was on target again for the under-18s in September's 5-2 victory over Southampton. Emulating Phil Foden to become another poster boy for City’s academy seems a difficult task but this is the dream Barrington chases. Jamie Jackson

who know this guy?
A thread was made on Wed,about 5 posts down.....the 'new' thread replication function was your second clue.

But it does feel odd to have never seen his name before when the guy is supposedly our brightest talent within that age group.

He's actually 16 until December but usually I'd have heard or read something by now.
I dont think he’s supposedly our brightest talent in the age group, the guardian are not the be all and end all of how players are rated. For example o’Reilly and Lewis are in that age group. We also probably haven’t heard about him because before Covid was a thing he was 13 or 14, so that’s probably 2 key breakthrough years of fans starting to hear about you that’s been missed.

I might as well jump in first. As soon as he reaches 17 and has played for the EDS, he'll be off because we don't have a pathway for him and the grass is greener elsewhere.
