He’s average, if he joins he will join Nunes as another average player. If we keep recruiting average players we will become average. Hope it does not happen:)
He's a mainstay of the Brazilian national squad and so integral that they recalled him before the allegations were dropped. But for those allegations, he would have been in our team all season, and with him to call upon, our midfield would not have become so tired; I imagine we would even have been playing tonight and might even be points clear of Arsenal.

Great player, and I suspect he is waiting for his move now, no matter what he says publicly. It's hard to stay 100% focused when your mind is elsewhere already. I don't blame him, as I would be just as excited to be joining City ;). People complain about his aggressiveness and susceptibility to red cards, but I actually think we need a midfield bully like that in our team. In my opinion, it will make us even better. Pep will find the right balance with him.

Players have 2 levels. average or world class and thats it nowadays.
That’s the thing we don’t have any average players, everyone that plays has their part in making the team great. We have a great, one of the greatest, teams, nobody that plays are a passenger nobody that plays are carried by anyone, managers that win what Pep wins don’t carry passengers.

The other angle is that Paqueta has played every minute he could this season and he’s now knackered in a demotivated side, so its no surprise that he’s not looking the part at the moment.

I stick by what I said months ago. All my mates that are Hammers are absolutely ecstatic that we still want him, he will be another fringe player on huge wages unfortunately.
A good indicator

A 'fringe player' doesn't always mean "poor". Akanji at Dortmund is testament to that. De Bruyne at Chelsea is, also, testament.

A 'fringe player' can be one that doesn't seem to fit into the system of that current manager's ethos.

I meant more of a Phillips, Nunes sort of signing, that will pretty much get minutes at the end of matches when others are tired or cup games, he isn't better than what we have so won't be knocking on the door to be part of the starting 11 very often imo. I sincerely hope I'm wrong if we do go back in for him, I'd rather we only sign world class players and promote academy players for squad roles personally.
