Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

Yeah, he signed the initial deal in 2019, but the extension in Jan. Not sure if that counts as a 'new' start date for the 3 year window.
I’d struggle to believe any lawyer could successfully argue that signing an extension isn’t a new contract.

If they did, it’d be bigger than the Bosman ruling. Any player could cancel their contract at any point and sign somewhere else as a free agent. There'd never be a transfer fee paid between clubs ever again and transfer windows would be irrelevant.

Imagine Bayern Munich level on points with Dortmund and they tap up Dortmund’s 3 best players and they cancel their contracts and sign for Bayern. They wouldn’t be registered until the summer, but it’d mean Bayern win the league more easily.

Does anyone know if Palmer will have a release clause/sell on %? If he’s around the £30m mark, seems less likely than if he was fresh out of the academy.

Still only after the 3 years (2 for older players) but get the idea.
