Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

There’s no chance he’s cancelled his contract. He can consider it, but he only signed it in January, so has pretty much zero chance of doing so.
Any idea if Webster ruling would start from the initial contract or the extension sign class as a new start date?

If it counts from the original date, he could buy it out.

“any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed. If he is 28 or older the time limit is shortened to two years.“

That’s what my understanding of the Webster ruling is.

Yeah, he signed the initial deal in 2019, but the extension in Jan. Not sure if that counts as a 'new' start date for the 3 year window.
