How many goals did Gundogan have before joining City? In the Bundesliga that total is 4. Palmer has almost that in the last 2 matches. Kova will score more playing for us too.

Maybe a rethink and going for another target?

Maybe Pep will just go with Kovacic and Foden in the KDB role?

Too many lads are starting to piss the bed. Firstly, we may yet land Parqueta and if not a suitable alternative. Secondly, we do have a range of alternatives at our disposal. At a stretch Phillips can play some more minutes taking pressure off Rodri. Phil or even Jack can play in creative central roles. Thirdly, we can easily sign another wide man, hold onto Palmer and Alvarez can start more often.
We are also looking very solid at the back and that will win us a lot of games even if we are not scoring 4 or 5 goals every week.
Yes, it has not so far been an outstanding window, but I would still have faith in the boys running the show to unearth something. Patience required.

There’s 2 weeks left of the transfer window and we haven’t replaced the creativity of either Mahrez or Gundogan and now our talisman is injured. What is of major concern is we desperately need a midfielder to help us unlock the multiple parked buses we’re going to face but we appear to have walked, understandably so, from Paqueta.

Problem with shopping late in the window is that everyone knows you’re desperate. I can’t see us picking anyone up if Paqueta doesn’t happen. We generally wait for players who are good enough but it’s extremely difficult to find someone now. If the right players aren’t available then that strategy makes sense. But if we have an obvious flaw in the squad, we need to fix it otherwise we’re handicapping ourselves for the season ahead.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate that the best manager in the world consistently builds incredible teams without always having obvious tools at his disposal.

We’re at a tipping point, everyone around has strengthened while we are weaker, through a combination of departures and injuries. We can put out a great team but we have zero cover and we have some passengers in the squad. We need desperately need to add creativity which is looking less likely.

I dread to think what it’s going to be like on here if Newcastle get a result.

You do know they have too many players and need to sell ? But thanks for showing our squad is superior.

We tend to show from the CL list as its a tighter requirement, no player worth coming in is being told you cant play CL but we have PL for you.

I have PL one but people get confused and a whole side argument starts.

Fair enough - although people seem to be signing for Chelsea on that basis!

Although I would suggest leaving the 3 CT places clear to show there is room for manoeuvre there.

Can’t find them anymore!!!!

It's bizarre, Spain were producing some incredible talent in the past, the current lot are nowhere near the same quality of these (except rodri of course)
