Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

West Ham will regret not pushing through the deal when we slapped £70m on the table, saying he’s worth £90m instead. Guess what lads, he’s worth fuck all now! Not even a penny.
This.
I do thing it’s interesting that the timing of these charges comes out AFTER we ended our interest. Would love to know how long the FA have been sitting on this information. No doubt they (and WHU) would have preferred this to come out when he was a City player and we’d just spend 70+Mln on him. Or am I just being paranoid?

I don't understand betting? Is this worse than what Toney did? Is spot fixing worse?
Yes. Apparently Toney only bet on the outcome of games including his own but only to win in those instances so he himself did not do anything on the pitch to affect an outcome like take a yellow, handle a ball in the box, miss a pen.

As a player he is privy to information others outside the team are not privy to and even some info on other teams through friends and such on those teams so he gains an advantage as someone betting on these games. It's against the rules but not "illegal".

What Paqueta has been accused of is illegal as he's committing an intentional act to control the outcome of something being wagered upon. People bet he's going to be booked knowing he will purposely commit an act to get booked. It's like a fighter taking a dive.

Why these fucking greedy bookmakers would allow betting on things that can be so easily manipulated is a whole other matter, like there isn't enough being bet on already without these type of ridiculous prop bets.

That said if it's found out that he actually did what's being said he should be banned from the Prem, possibly forever. A clear message needs to be sent that this type of behavior won't be tolerated in any way.

With what you wanted to convey in that post, mentioning Phillips wasn't necessary at all.

You're doing it again now. No need

As I said I'd love him to do well as he seems a really nice guy, but I'm only stating Pep's actions from the previous games we have played.
