He has certainly been very impressive in preseason, and deserves a chance in the league cup IMO
Yet unless we've injuries, the league cup games will be given to the squad players with less league gametime, to keep them sharp.

If one of Danilo or Walker gets injured for a couple weeks/months, the other one would surely have to rotate a little bit, and that could give Luke Bolton a chance

Or Otamendi if he's not getting gametime in the league, or a 3 with Sterling at wing back...
Unless we deliberately leave a gap in the first 22 for a young player (as we did with Foden last season in midfield) they'll see barely any gametime.

Realistic is the word you're looking for.

Preseason makes people stick their heads in the clouds.

Otherwise we'd have Zuculini bossing our midfield.

It is negative, we live in a realistic world, why do people feel the need to constantly try and piss on folks chips, it is football, a sport of dreams after all.

The saying if you have nothing good to say then say nothing at all, is around for a reason.

No right minded city fan is expecting him to break through next season but if a few folks are happy he has played well then great, great for the lad as well, as a city fan it wouldn’t be the greatest shock in the world that he reads on here nd it will give him a nice boost to read some positive comments, if not him no doubt a friend or uncle etc etc

He was similarly condescending when I said that I could see Delph ending up being an important player under Pep.

Anyway, with the exception of Eric Garcia, I think Luke's given as good an account of himself as anyone during the last two games. Unfortunately for him, like with every other position in the squad, he's facing competition from two highly experienced senior players. He just has to keep working and keep seizing his chances to impress. Loved his aggression.

Very impressed with his abilities at such a young age. One to watch. As with all academy players we wish for them to become first team players and this guy has it. In a few years sure we’ll be seeing more of him in the first team. Still has a lot to do and good luck to him.
