Luton Town (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Was really happy to see the fight in our players, especially 2nd half.
Wasn't a great performance, probably would have struggled against a better side but it was enough against Luton & that's all that matters.

Watched the game with a ref who firstly couldn't believe no foul was given and secondly couldn't believe VAR didn't recommend a look at the monitor for a red card. Two feet off the ground, over the top of the ball, point of impact top of calf, why isn't that a red? Club needs to be asking Howard Webb for clarification so that they know for future what is and what isn't a red. Compare this which wasn't even given as a free kick to Rodri's yellow.

That is a disgrace....it needs explaining and if they can't then we can rest assured that we know what's afoot here...

Good performance. Luton were allowed to kick and pull and stud and drag us all over and the ref just stood there letting it happen. We fought back hard and fought back the proper way. No problem with Luton making it a physical game but it's up to the ref not to endanger the players and he failed in that task - Foden's gonna have a nasty gash on that leg. A bit rusty in places but we battled and exerted our dominance. Considering how much Liverpool and Arsenal struggled there, three relatively comfortable points shouldn't be sniffed at.
Ref played up to the crowd as well. Bit of a minor point but the two foul throw decisions were just him pandering to the crowd. The one against Bernardo wasn't even foul throw. In the 2nd half Jack and two Luton players did exactly the same throw in and nothing was done about it. Like I say minor points but I think it showed the Ref was intimidated

Glad we got back to winning ways, was a scrap and, if you don't get the early goal especially, it only gets tougher with every minute.

I wasn't confident that we would not concede in injury time.

Funny to hear the Luton fans singing two one to the referee, clearly both sides felt he was a bit rubbish today. How var decides that wasn't a red card offence is one I'd like clearing up, two feet, off the ground, makes contact, stays on the pitch.
Like watching Stoke from 15 years ago.

On reflection it was a good performance against Luton yes people say it's only Luton but they have given all the top teams a good game and have not been hammered once, every game against the top clubs is like a cup final to them so they have that extra bit of energy and why not they will be in all likelihoods be relegated and never get to the PL again

My view exactly. Dippers only drew there; tarquins managed a stuffy 98th (ish) minute win because the game was allowed to go on till they scored :) :)

Seriously I think it was a good result when taken into context

Yeah, I'm just baffled at how he didn't think it warranted any booking.

I thought it was strange watching on the telly, the VAR replays started showing the foul close up and in slow mo which proved it was a red, then changed the angle and distance so it wasn’t so clear. Very odd.
