Lyon (A) - Post Match Thread

Can’t believe he left Delph on the bench and started with three wingers away from home. Left us too open to their counters. A lucky draw. Pep out.

Really enjoyed that, thought we showed real character both times we went behind and the longer the game went I could only see one winner.
Lyon are a side with some very good players, playing above themselves infront of a poty crowd and we werent at our best. All in all agood result. Laporte is an incredible defender. Hope Peps noted n'dombele too. Looks class.

Glad to get away with that. Our forwards were below par, especially Mahrez. Our corners apart from a couple were awful. Laporte and Stones excellent again.

Good performance in possession. Off the ball we were average and badly missed someone like Kev. A front 5 of Aguero, Silva, Sane, Sterling and especially Mahrez won't win you many 50/50s and as much as we can roll our eyes at it, it took 80 minutes for someone to go through Ndembele and make him realise he can't just turn through us whenever he gets the ball. Poor lead up to both the goals we conceded. That said, we would have blown most teams apart playing like we did tonight.

Aguero brilliant, Fernandinho brilliant.

Also, the Sane sub changed the game for them at a time when we were all over them.

Good to have a kick up the arse every now and then. Pep's been giving the team warnings and now they got a 90 minute reminder that if we're not gonna win anything if we're not at our best.

Laporte is fucking immense!

We didn’t play well, again, but got what we needed
