Sounds good . Mine is 240 alll in excluding ticket with a night in London premier inn but i haven't organised it. Dossing in Lyon.

Lyon will cost a pretty penny.
Booked ours weeks ago and struggled for cheap digs even then.

Eurostar on Tuesday morning fron St Pancras. Lyon by early pm. First ever away in Europe for moi.

Eurostar is a good choice.
Take food and drink on board with you.

Gatwick to Lyon on Sunday morning
Cheap train transfer to Lyon thanks to warning from @berryblue
Hotel in the old town
Fly to Gatwick Thursday night
Train to Leicester and hotel.
