Macclesfield

My mates daughter lives in the house where Ian Curtis sadly took his own life. Regularly gets tourists turning up.
Some strange people about,I’m of a age when I can remember the moors murders, people flocked to the house in Hattersley where some of the despicable act’s occurred (it’s now knocked down) same with Fred wests house

Proper Sound on Chestergate.
A great mix of new and old records, a coffee shop, a bar, a music memorabilia shop and a photo opportunity to recreate an Oasis album cover in the left hand shop window! Though hurry up, they are changing the window next week.
A bit further up Chestergate is the Bate Hall Hotel pub, the building of which dates back to the 16th century.
If you go on Sunday it’s the famous Treacle Market all day, well worth a visit.

I find it weird tourists visit the house, it is somebody's home and the tragedy happened many years a go.

Curtis was in an unhappy marriage, struggling with his epilepsy and the side effects of the drugs sent him in to a dark place. Don't understand why people find it fascinating to visit the site where the suicide took place..

Each to their own, that's my view.
His prescription epilepsy drugs may have fucked him up but as far as I'm aware, Curtis never took illegal drugs.
