As previously mentioned the picturedrome on chestergate is great for a choice of food and is very close to Vinyl Planet too. If you like good cask and craft beers and really traditional old quirky pub go to The Castle (up the hill from the train station) Redwillow and The fountain are next door to each other on Sunderland St and have a great range of local (Redwillow & Bollington) beers. Enjoy.

My mates daughter lives in the house where Ian Curtis sadly took his own life. Regularly gets tourists turning up.

It’s been mentioned and I would endorse the Castle. Great building and tremendous ale.

The Castle is recently reopened I think. Was known back in my drinking days for it's lock ins, but only if you were a member of the local constabulary.

They have made a great job of restoring it and it is once again a lovely pub
