Not sure your wife is correct. Not saying she’s definitely wrong either. I think it’s at least arguable that the McAnn’s neglect dos not reach the charging standard. It couldn’t be said to be evidentially over a sustained period, which usually has to be present in such prosecutions - and the public interest test is arguably not engaged. Depends on the culpability.

So I’m not convinced he’s ‘off the hook’ as you say.

My own view is whatever their culpability, which won’t amount to more than accidental death and concealment of the body, they’ve suffered enough. If anyone thinks they should suffer some more then please feel free to say.

I hope the poor girl’s life was ended quickly, because she’s long dead. The alternative is almost certainly far worse.

More hyperbole. The restaurant was 55m away. No one would ever get prosecuted for child neglect for being 55m away from there children in a holiday resort complex. The McCanns haven't been prosecuted because such a case would be bound to fail. So they are not criminally negligent. Semantics maybe but people seem to be desperate to see these 2 locked up.
