For some reason, some people seem to WANT the parents to be guilty. They won't accept ANY other suspect.
 
I’m no more an expert on this subject than anyone else but I’m surprised at the speculation given the current evidence pointing towards the German.

There’s no doubt that’s the case. It’s because they are middle class and look the way they do. They trigger a section of the population in a really weird way. I’m sure the thread is chockablock full of people saying they should be jailed for neglecting their kids; that they probably did it, and that poor kids don’t get in the media.

I’d love the killer to be caught to shut up the conspiracy theorists as well as give the family a bit of peace.

No, but I would think that different types of sniffer dogs are presumably of some use given their widespread use by police forces around the world.

If they’ve been trained to perform a specific job, then I wouldn’t necessarily dismiss one of them signalling something as ‘some dogs going apeshit’.

They are there to identify clues, create lines of enquiry. Point those investigating in the right direction. Not to give evidence. You can’t evidently rely upon upon a dog going apeshit. There could be loads of reasons for that. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

What were they signalling?

They were signalling blood and the scent of a dead body. That was what they were trained to do. It's not as random as you appear to be making it out. Infact its actually quite scientific when you realise what dogs can smell and the level detection they have.

So let's look at the only other suspect... A convenient 'patsy' who the police have zero evidence actually connecting him to the crime, but want to keep him in jail 'just in case' they find some evidence...?

There's more evidence suggesting that Kate and/or Gerry were responsible for / had something to do with Maddie's disappearance than there is for anyone else on the planet.

It's nothing to do with 'class', it's about two selfish, evasive parents who, at the very least, wilfully neglected their three infant children, but have never been charged.

I’ve not seen much evidence in the public domain pointing towards him to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, I can see why he’s a person of interest as he’s a sick bastard and fits the profile of someone who would abduct a young girl and it’s quite possible that he is responsible but unless the police are holding some key information back, there isn’t enough evidence to get him charged.

Sadly, I think this case likely only gets solved if a body is discovered.
 
After all this time the chances of her being alive are remote, heartbreaking for her family but at least her death has motivated the public world wide not to leave their children below age 14 ? on their own and be responsible parents, your children are irreplaceable a lesson the McCanns learned over and over again

No doubt. On the flip side, there are some people who are desperate for her to have been abducted and murdered by a paedophile so they can tell those who suspected the McCanns that they were wrong.

My own position has shifted considerably down the years. I used to be of the opinion that the McCanns were involved but as time has gone on I’ve leant more towards the abduction theory. The whole thing remains a huge mystery though.

He may well be the culprit but what I find interesting is that the Met don’t seem particularly invested in this line of inquiry and it all seems to be coming from the German side.

They were arrested though and investigated but there was no evidence to convict them of anything. I believe they were afraid their other twins would be taken away and that made them come across as evasive. Intellectually they would have known how stupid and negligent they had been.
