Madeleine McCann

Surely when the girl's eyes didn't look like this:

eye.jpg

they should have had an inkling that it wasn't her?

-

Is there a sort of chemical that can change an eye defect?

She had a blemish in her right eye, a black line from the pupil to the white. Surely you would be able to see that.

Her parents are so blatently involved in it, it beggars belief. If someone snatched my daughter, I wouldn't have time for newspaper, tv and radio interviews, i'd be hunting the land in hope of gauging and force feeding the eyes of the person who took my child.

Why haven't her parents been charged with neglect?

This! The McCanns make me want to hurl!

if the parents were from a council estate would the police ect. even still be looking?

hahahaha

People were saying the same thing at the time of the Sharon Matthews abduction. How did that one turn out?

Not true. Any child that is lost from any family that we can relate to (even if only on a 'familiarity' basis borne out of 'that could have been us') is going to get attention. Take for example the family of Sarah Payne. I'm pretty sure we'd be still talking about it now if the child hadn't been found. This isn't about 'class' at all, it's about common humanity.

500 children a year are abducted in the UK
800,000 Children have been reported as missing in a single year in the US

Imagine how many go missing in all the other countries.

Then think how many children have disappeared since Maddie.

How many of them can you name? I cant name a single other one.
I hope they find their kid but imo she deserves no more attention than any of the other millions of kids who have gone missing before/after she was.
This is very much the question I asked before.

She gets attention because her parents make sure her disappearance remains in the spotlight. They employ a private detective, release info and updates to the media and generally keep their daughter in the spotlight.
If i was in their position i would use any and every means necessary to try and find my child.

At least they can release an extended version of the book now, there's a few more chapters from this latest "heartbreak." ££££££££

It's just Damocles getting a bit giddy...just like he did in the 'kill the cheese' thread.

I didn't get giddy in that, I just shown you up to everyone for exactly what you are.

I feel sorry for some of the members on here.
They live such paranoid/delusional lives, I'm surprised they haven't topped themselves by now.

I know unbelievable acts can occur, and that some people are absolutely evil.
But what worries me more is that reading some of the comments on here, these posters think this is a normal way to be.
Being alert to dangers, and being skeptical when needed is fine.
This keeps us safe, and in general works.

But some on here need professional help.
They read articles on the internet, then come on here and present it as evidence.
Anybody who dares to dismiss it is abused and insulted, and classed as a gullible idiot.
As with the recent "fake" moon landing and "9/11" thread, any internet article is presented as evidence and fact.

As for the McCanns.
The biggest question always has to be "why".
Why would they murder their daughter.
Why would they try to cover up an accidental killing.
Why would they cover up if she simply died of natural causes.
Why would their friends get involved.
Why would they keep her in the news for so long.

They were stupid for leaving the kids alone. I wouldn't have done it.
But, we all act different when on holiday, and sadly they let their guard down.
They are paying the price now and every day.

The simple fact is that although there is the chance (however small) they they were involved, the more likely fact is they weren't.
If it gives you some weird kind of pleasure fantasising something else happened, I feel sorry for you.
If in the end it turns out you were right and they did do it, I still feel sorry for you.
I feel sorry that you are going through life with such a bleak prospective...

"Stupid" is leaving the oven on, leaving the door unlocked, forgetting to pay your phone bill....leaving kids alone whilst you go have dinner isn't stupid it's a dereliction of your duty as a parent. In the mothers own account she states there were some unusual happenings at the apartment the night before, yet they still thought dinner was more important!!!!

As for why, well see above, if you exclude murdering Maddie, people can still go to prison for a number of years when kids they are responsible for die accidentally. Now I am not saying the abduction story is a fabrication (I simply, like nearly everyone else on planet earth bar 2-5 people, don't know) and the other questions you raise as to how have the others kept quiet and why keep it in the news so long are interesting and certainly make for a debate.

Maybe they would be villified, reviled by their family and go to jail?
The highlighted bit is what i believed to happen, i will stand by that. I also think, that if the mccanns were a bricklayer and a checkout operator, they would've been treated differently, by the media and the public.

Your poem doesn't rhyme. Or are you TS Eliot?

Let's just pick a few points out shall we?

I don't recall anyone abusing other posters before you came along. It was a heated discussion but everyone was polite.

The point about conspiracy theories is also wide of the mark as the evidence comes from the officer who investigated the case. He believes they did it. The British police have closed the investigation, which implies they believe they know who did it. You say yourself that there is a chance they could have done it so implicitly admit there is no killer evidence to support their claim of innocence.

You are entitled to believe what you believe but please don't accuse people who don't share your view of being mentally deficient in some way. Evidence can be interpreted in different ways as we know from many court cases.

Thanks for suggesting that as I disagree with your view that you are suprised I haven't topped myself. Super logic.

I feel sorry for you that you appear a non questioning, "believe anything" simpleton.

Are you religious by any chance?

What a fucking fantastic post. Couldn't agree more.

I don't think they are guilty of anything more than an act of stupidity on holiday, for which they paid the most unimaginable price.

Thanks for your sympathy,fulabeer.
I do get pleasure out of weird fantasies, and I don't subscribe to your point of view,so clearly I am mentally ill.
As a result of your insightful analysis of my psyche,I have taken up self-harming,with a view to ending my life, given that the future for me is so bleak, and that my wretched life is one of ennui and futility.
Have you ever entertained the idea of a career as a motivational coach?

Cheers NF for confirming I was right.

You are usually a decent moral compass for off topic as is johnsonontheleft, but usually for different reasons.
