Lets get a few things straight. Someone mentioned his defensive qualities earlier. He's played in Italy where defenders are taught to keep position and a straight disciplined line at all times. Having watched him play a few times, he was as disciplined as they come for inter and brazil in a flat back four. Remember a few weeks back vs Madrid he kept Ronaldo so quiet he had to switch wings. His positioning was superb and never let him come inside once. It's a shame he got injured because we may have won. Most on here who are expecting him to be a flying wing wing back are going to be disappointed. He's a top intelligent defender through and through.

Played well. Came on as right wing. (Zab was behind him when required to nullify Bale's pace). Stretched the Spurs defence out to their left and that created the gaps to win the game.
