Yeah remember him well. Ted was a giant of a man. Also Tony Valenti from Middleton somewhere. I used to play for Swinton Labour Club and we drew Middleton Labour Club in the quarter final of Lancashire Labour Club competition. I asked him how to get to their ground, he said there's no point you turning up cos you wont win anyway.
Also remember a cup replay away to Leicester late 60's when we went on a coach and one lad on there called Sid, who was a real character, used to like a ruck.
the swinton ledge.that guy doesnt miss games.

Had a kip and now my memory has improved - it was Tony V at Langley Labour Club, not Middleton. And it was Stan not Sid, Stan Hayes. The pleasures of old age eh?

Is the guy in the jacket you're on about the one with about 200 badges on his scarf and flat city cap? Still see him about. You've forgot 'the end is nigh' placard guy

had a good natter with this guy in spoons by the millennium before the tns game

The guy in the jacket and flat cap I think he comes up from london every week, used to talk to him on the way back to town he had a 1970's blue and white radio used to ask him what the score were. He was on the big screen lasthome game just before kick off. wonder if he has upgraded to a digital radio.

Does any one remember a swedish/Norwegian bloke who gave up his job for a year moved in to a bed sit in south manchester just so he could watch city.

Re Debs was she the blonde girl who actually moved house to be nearer Maine Rd?? She was always first in the queue for tickets and then she nipped home for flasks of hot drinks. She used to go every game in the 80's and 90's..........If it is her she couldnt have been that old, very sad

His nick name was Dicky Mint...I think!...still around now. He was from Glasgow originally and bought a house almost next to the ground...a City legend.

A character of note and still going strong. "S-A-L-F-O-R-D, Salford Blues MCFC...."

still ripping people off to fund his habit, will always be in his brothers shadow, who incidently was/is a genuine force to be reckoned with

Not had chance to read all the thread but don't think its been mentioned...

I used to sit just right of the North stand near the corner flag...half way up. There was always a trampy looking guy who'd stand up on his own shouting ''cittttyyyyy..........Cittttyyy''. At the same time he'd spit everywhere shouting it then just start going mad. I can just picture the bright red face of his.

Anyone else remember him or am i on my own?

She was indeed mate.....
Top girl was Debbie, had a brother called Tony. Used to go to all the games together, a big crew from Gorton and Ardwick. Everton away one year we were stood outside Lime st. after the game, when Eric Williams came walking up with a screwdriver stuck out of his back. He didn`t even know it was there!! Debbie moved to Hyde when her mam took over a pub there.

Saw him the other week.

He once started sayying really personal stuff to me on a London tube, like "You live on Langdale Avenue, don't you?" and "You're 26, aren't you?" and all this. Whilst we knew each other's faces, I couldn't believe he knew all this stuff about me.

Then he gave me my wallet back.

Also was once in the Moon Under The Water with him after we'd been relegated.

He got his cock out and pissed in the middle of the pub in front of hundreds of people.
