Maine Road or Etihad

Maine Road was a fantastic traditional football ground. Even fans of other clubs will tell you that. The atmosphere, the location, it was brilliant. I'd love to go back in time and attend one more match there.

However, that being said, I would not change the Etihad for Maine Road now, and I don't regret us moving stadiums. Where we are in world football today, requires a modern stadium. I have fond memories (and some awful memories) of Maine Road, and I miss it dearly, but it was essential we upgraded.

Maine Road. I lived near Eastlands when they were building it. I could see what a soulless bowl of concrete it would be. Thankfully ADUG have made it pretty special outside and the extension, but it isn't the best for me.
Imagine 93:20 at Maine Road. Christ.

Where can I buy a pair of your rose tinted specs?

For one thing the Kippax terracing was too shallow and hard to see anything if stuck behind a couple of 6 foot guys so many would not have actually seen 93.20. The atmosphere was only good at certain games and rarely in the main stand.

Maine Road was primitive in the 1960's when "improvements" started. It was a dump by the time we left. Keep the good memories though.

Maine Road for the memories of a differnt era. Etihad for all the trophies over the last 10 years. The two are not compatible. So, overall the Etihad has to win for me. Can never forget my personal tears after the 2011 final and the rag twat counter coming down to zero. It would not have happened if we were still at Maine Road.

My memories of Main Road, ripped up seats and pee in cups getting thrown on us from the Millwall fans! Did I love Main Road, yes! But I love the Etihad more. Mancini and Pep, say no more.

The interior of the Etihad is outstanding, a beautiful stadium, but the exterior is a disgrace for a major club, it needs a serious revamp and quickly.

Personally think the club has missed a great opportunity to do so during the pandemic.

I honestly thought that a long-term 'lockdown' of fans was obvious right at the start of the pandemic. As such, I expected work to start on the North stand
