Make this season Claudio Bravo's season

Fact is that our defenders were equally culpable, or even more so, for most of those goals and yet nobody got on their backs as hard as they did on Claudio's.
Absolutely,he got very little help. The problem was when called upon to rescue a situation he didn't pull it off. Basic positional play was poor. He'll get another season so let's hope with a new defence everything improves.

I understand where you're coming from, but Bravo was useless last season. He made more saves yesterday than he did for us for the whole of last season.

The matter that concerned me last season was Guardiola repeatedly saying he was a world class keeper, when it was blindingly obvious to most he was anything but.

I've said it before, that there is no way on earth Alex Ferguson would have persisted with Bravo for more than one or two games if he had been available to him at united, and I stand by that.

Guardiola was too proud to admit his mistake. He's rectified it now it would seem with our new keeper, but Bravo in goal last season was a huge mistake and when you recall some of the dolly drop shots that passed him by without him even moving to try and stop them, well, yes, blame some of those on the defence, but he should have prevented a lot more goals being scored against us.

He isn't good enough for a team that aspires to be top of the league, and he was our weakest link last season by a country mile.
Very good post.

Will be intriguing to see what happens next season particularly if Bravo has a decent preseason.
Is it going to be a fair fight for the starting role in the PL or is the job Ederson's to lose?
Will the Cup Keeper also get the CL games?

I'm tipping Bravo to step it up this season and give us a selection dilemma.

He made plenty of saves for us last season, not enough mind but the exaggeration there is exactly what people are talking about when they say the criticism is disproportionate.

He is a world class keeper that suffered a dramatic dip in form.

Rag inferiority complex rearing it's head in your third para, not pretty.

It wasn't just pride from Pep, he backed him to turn it around but the situation became toxic because the dissenting voices in the ground grew louder making it more difficult for him to get that bit of confidence needed.

He is good enough, he's proved that, ridiculous assertion considering.

Precisely. I've seen this player in action for years, even before he came to Barcelona - his quality is not in question. The backtracking from many fans will be amusing in the coming season

Absolutely shocking at club level last year and to perform at that level is unacceptable but those who are saying "he's the worst keeper I've ever seen for us" are confused. He's not even anywhere near the worst keeper currently on our books.

I think he's great and look forward to the competition between him and Ederson next season.

Not surprising he played better when his own fans aren't mocking his every touch. Must be a relief for him to get away from us and enjoy his football.

This. Mocking him catching the ball is a ***** trick.

Who is the worst keeper on our books then our of interest.

The Captain of Chile speaks to his players. We need to embrace this man so he feels like the centre of MCFC then he can do this for us
