Making a Murderer

What was the timeline of questioning with the ex, had he been spoken to in a cursory manor before anything was found ? I think he was as he was on the search team.
This would have allowed time to put stuff in the Avery's yard the night before. I think something happened to her at the quarry across the way, perfect place to do the crime and nobody is going to see you between their and the Avery's.

So many variables arrrggghhhh

Some people were talking about this in work today. wouldn't mind giving it a read.

I met the American guy Nick Yarris after one of his talks the other year and got a book signed off him. That's a truly messed up story of miscarriage of justice!!!

Our country aren't as good. When the Innocent Irish were released, the Government charged them bed and board out of their compensation!!!

I would put my last penny on it we have done some right nasty shit at way higher levels than this. Well we know it goes on ala Thatcher and the failed Coup in Africa.
No chance he did that without those in tweed knowing and saying yes to certain things he wanted.

When it is against one man in this way though yes it is different and feels worse in a way as dodgy as that sounds.

I also think the lawyer that Stevens nephew used was a plant. That sickening smirk he had on his face when answering questions to the media etc made my piss boil as you could tell he didn't give a shit.

Down to last episode tonight, my heart breaks for Stevens mother more than anyone. Don't think there can be anything worse than your son being the suspect of a murder trial apart from them being dead.

Tits on toast. Just watched epsiode 1 on xbmc. Ive got streams for every episode except for episode 2. How frustrating is that?
Any clever people on here got a link for the second one?

Watched it all now so spoilers below.

It's disgusting really. I know the programme is biased but there's no way he did it or least not beyond reasonable doubt, where is the evidence? And there is literally none for Brendan, which to me is even more upsetting, he's a 16 year old kid who got bullied into confessing by some twat cops. It's really sad and scary.

The main point I took from it though is that Ken Kratz is a vile twat. He makes my skin crawl and did even before I knew he was a pervert as well.

Just done episode 2 and he looks pretty fucking guilty of murder from where Im sat. That may change as it progresses though
It is fascinating to be able to watch this unfold almost livetime with all the footage. I think we are lucky in this country that investigations and prosecutions are not conducted in the way America does it. I get that there was huge media interest in it because of who Avery was and his wrongful conviction etc, but it cant be right to be disclosing evidence and facts of the case to the media. We only get to hear of evidence in this country often during trials, quite rightly. Take the Hatton Gardens raid for instance; the first we have heard about most of that is from the trial. I also think we are lucky not to have all the scores of different law levels of law enforcement that septics have. Those county sheriff flibbers look like the equivalent of PCSOs over here conducting investigations.
Anyway, fascinating series. Really enjoying it. Got a couple of days off and it looks like this will be taking the time up

Watched it all yesterday in one hit and wow.

Just fucking wow!

The American justice system at its very worst on show. bent cops, bent district attorneys, bent state defence lawyers and worse still, judges happy to sit on their hands and allow the corruption to go on unchecked.

His lawyer summed it up quite well - His presumption of innocence was destroyed by the prosecution through the media long before his trial started. It would be interesting to put that same trial before a jury who hadn't been subjected to the media exposure and knew nothing prior of Avery or the case; I highly doubt they would have found him guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

Youre right. The more I watch the more I find it staggering that prosecutors and witnesses involved in it talked so freely to the press, its madness. Thankfully over here the judiciary would stand for no such thing and everyone would be held in contempt of court. I get that it is frustrating to have the press speculate, the tabloids here are bad for it. But that is where professionalism and discretion and having to bite your tongue comes into it, with respect to the judicial process and ensuring a fair trial.
Anyway, all those issues are undermining. Im only up to the end of episode 3, and can see issues with the key and allegations of planting of evidence and the way they conducted the interview with the clearly remedial juvenile. Not well managed at all. It was good that it was video recorded, but that is all that was good. Why bother when they should have an appropriate adult there and a lawyer. The end resukt would probably have been the same, but it would have been best evidence and beyond complaint. We do things better over here, that much is clear.
I await how they deal with the simple fact that her body was found disposed and burnt near his house. Key and car and blood aside, that is a big issue for him to explain away. The phone call to police made by the person who found it sounds wholly genuine to me as well
