r.i.p can someone tell me if this is correct - that he got rid of roger palmer when he became manager?

thanks

No, Palmer played under Malcolm at the start of 1980/1, though he was in and out of the side. It was John Bond who sold Roger. According to the MCFC Stats site, Palmer's last game for City was on 8 October 1980 at Leeds, which we lost 0-1. It was Big Mal's last game before being sacked the next day. Palmer was an unused sub in the next two games, the second of them a home defeat against Birmingham which was the first game after John Bond was appointed. So it was obviously Bond who sold Roger.

It took me a couple of days to get to this thread, but I still don't have the words.

Just RIP Malc. I hope he finds peace.

God Bless Big Mal!

After todays win I can just see big Mal staring down, Fedora in place, huge cigar in hand, shouting "Who's laughing now!!!".

RIP big fella.

That's right. Palmer was in the crowd of players saying goodbye to Malcolm in the CITY! documentary.

Well for the record wall fans did not disrespect Mals minutes applause, and believe it or not he played a part in my childhood,he was a friend of a bloke my dad grew up with (who'd cracked it financially)and i,as a kid, was at a few parties with him, remember scoring a pen against him (he was lagging)at some do somewhere, and he called me little mal whenever i saw him after that,on the grounds that he thought i was going to be a ladies man (he was wrong),he was palace manager at the time and tried to convert me lol, failed of course.

true legend

PS:again i hope you don't mind me applying this to the thread but it's kind of important.....it was a millwall fan that got stabbed (well dart actually)in the qpr fixture.
