Man City long service award/reward

City would be nothing without our long standing fans.

City have done a lot of things to push many of them out since the takeover as well which has always felt like a kick in the teeth. I know well over two dozen people who’ve dropped away from our match going support who now only go to early round FA Cup home games yet for a while some of them were going home and away every week every season.

Would be good of the club to acknowledge that we aren’t just ‘Legacy’ fans and we are the true core of the club. After all, every single person currently working for City will be one day long gone from this club, their names will still be in the history books, but it will be us and our families who will still be the core supporters like they have been for 128 years.

Good OP @eaststandlevel3

It was not possible to back date it beyond your DoB. It was member since 19XX not season card, they only did it for 2016/17.

I’m not a hoarder but was looking for something yesterday and actually came across that card. I assume I kept it because it had a photo of my kids on the back. But you’re right it was that year. Didn’t realise they only did it once. Point stands that anyone could put whatever year they liked on it, as long as they were born. So you can’t really expect the club to take it as fact and start handing presents out on the strength of it.

Some healthy debate but it seems such a crying shame the club didnt keep records.
I still have my old season ticket books from back in the day.
year 1,2,3,4 then it went to regular.

I just think the club are missing an opportunity to do something.
id of been well pleased to get a beer token for my 50th.
even if they do it from the move to the COMS we are all coming up to our 20 year service
it’s a shame my dad was 80 this year and I reckon it’s his last season, he’s been going since the 50’s.

At work we’ve just had our long service awards.
it got me thinking I bet most of us have been season ticket holders longer than we have worked or been in the same job.
I can’t even remember when I actually got my first season ticket I think around 1987.(not sure if it’s even logged anywhere since the move from Maine road we just got a lump of points)
I just thought it would be nice for city to acknowledge our support for all these years.
Or maybe you all think we are just a number and are not interested.

So based on my season ticket I will have done possibly 35 years.
Could the club do anything for our loyal support?
Options
1. Email at 10,20,30,40,50 years service and so on.
2. A beer token, have a drink on us
3. A voucher to spend in city store
4. Blue Peter badge and so on.

maybe I’m wide of the mark and people are not bothered, I’m not precious I just thought it would be a nice touch from the club.

other things an email for big birthdays? We have some supporters who are 80 or more and still going as season tickets who may not be able to go much past this age And it will go without any acknowledgment.
maybe a letter from the club, anything?

yes I am bored and no city games but what do people think?
Number 4, but in a badge?

Mentioned this in a previous thread. 23 years a season ticket holder, gave it up in 2004, loyalty points reduced when transferreing to a membership. Don't kid yourselves that the club give a flying fuck about the ordinary fan, the sacrifices made, the years attending etc. Never had never will. Unfortunately people like me are not worthy of a publicity stunt video showing the world how much they care.
