the ***** living in dream world if he thinks hes going to walk in to chelski`s, rag`s, arseanul
or dippers first team, infact which team would he be first choice in, that could afford 65,000 a week. the answer daniel, none you thick tw@t

Its in the MEN he wants £35,000 to £40,000 a week not fucking £65,000.

we dont know the fact but if i were him and thinking of purely footballing reason i would be tempted to leave also, he isnt going to get anyway near as many minutes on the pitch here as he would if he takes a step down to say wigan, bolton or blackburn, but if he is after silly money and a move to chelsea etc, then he is a very silly boy

Sturridge is ego and money focussed, bad advisers like Anelka when he was young. Never mix family and football business. They have manipulated the position so he is out of contract, I only want the players who will stay and fight. £20k per week is more than ample for Sturrigde, most of us work nearly a year to get that. He is nowhere near as good as Superman and Stevie played for that, proved his point by hard work and total committment and now he will deservedly reap rich rewards.

Follow the lead of Stevie not the lure of quick cash which only results in a wasted footballing career.

Excellent post. Pity some on here can't see it. Sturridge is going to go the same way as Dickson Etuhu; another lad who thought he was better than he actually was. I don't remember him pulling up too many trees when he left us, and if Daniel thinks he is ready to walk into the first team at Chelsea, Manure or any other team of a similar quality, and get paid anywhere near £40k per week (that alright Challenger?), he is sadly mistaken.

He's brought it on himself, with his contract demands and general "big time Charlie" attitude. He should take a look at Stevie and/or Ned (fellow academy lads).
They've knuckled down and produced where it matters, on the pitch.

Bollocks some of the arse wholes on here we're quoting figures of around £70,000 a week and calling him everything under the sun.

ive got previous with him and have called him a twat on here for years even when he was seen as the messiah on here.

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Would that be the Nigerian international who scored against us last month, and who will be playing in Europe next season? ;)

Still. I do think we need to take a good look at our younger players. Of those who came through the academy, and were good enough to break through, only Ned has not caused us stress - Micah, Stevie, Johnson, Sturridge, Barton have all gone off on one to some extent. Micah seems to be back on track now he's playing well, and Stevie seemed to take it upon himself to get sorted, but it's not a great record for the club with supposedly the most successful academy in the country.

Cya mate. Nice knowing you. The only way for our club is forward and you, my friend, are backwards if you think you're going to take the mick with us.

Does that therefore mean that he is a top class fotballer? Using that argument, the likes of John O'Shea, Park Ji Sung, Darren Fletcher etc are among the elite of European footballers. No? You see what I mean? Etuhu is lucky in as much as he is playing in a well organised, very well coached team under Roy Hodgson (manager of the season, IMO). IIRC, Etuhu demanded more money and a place in the first XI under KK, and when he didn't get it, he left. Sounds familiar.

I was really just making a mildly cheeky comment and not suggesting him as the next world player of the year.

When he left it did seem like a big mistake - KK was keen to make him a lynchpin of our first team. He is, however, currently the most successful ex-academy player to leave City.

ps. Nothing I said suggests that the unholy trinity of workmanlike rags you mentioned are among the elite of European footballers - however, some of them will quite literally will be "among" the elite at the Champions League final, and I suspect that Danny will not be too upset if one day he is also among them.
