Beckham can feck right off!

a) rag through and through
b) long past his best
c) his heart wouldn't be in it (a combination of a + b)

a) I wouldn't care which team a player supported, even rags, if they done the business on the pitch
b) Wrong
c) To say that Beckham wouldn't try his best for a club, just because he was a big part of their rivals, would be a fabrication based on a personal feeling towards the player.

Timbobs you are clueless.

Please give me examples, not just a statement which stems from you not being able to get over a dislike of a player.

Is Beckham still a good footballer - Yes
Would Beckham bring credibility with brand name to what our owners want for our team - Again, Yes

He joined a team mid-season with Milan, without the Summer to get used to the team and settle in, and in 18 games scores 2 goals but sets up 5. That's not bad for someone in his first spell in a foreign league (remember are excuses for Robinho around January and February) without a proper rest from the MLS season.

If you look at Beckham's stats for 2008/09 season (ignoring MLS for obvious reasons)

For Milan and England

25 starts
2 goals
11 assists (2 more if you include the England games since end of season)

Please, again, use evidence as to why I'm clueless and why Beckham must therefor be rubbish. Please take your blue tinted glasses off first too please.

You may have to make it simple, as remember, I may be too clueless to understand.

Maybe its not him disliking the player,,, but more the fact that you obviously love him !!!!!!

i have a mate who used to work in coms, in fact he helped build it, he would have got free match tickets only for he got sent home for not wearing steel cap boots but still gets the odd bit of inside info somehow who says its defo NOT david villa

Beckham ? lol
That would definitely be a signing that would have the whole football world laughing out loud at our club, huge lack of ambition if we went anywhere near the Beckham circus.
Nothing to do with the fact he played for the rags & everything to do with the fact that he's finished & now just living on past exploits, fine player in his time but jeez, i hope we stay well clear .

Me to. All the signs off a fat head sam signing this, good player five years ago but well past his best.

Well he has had several flaws throughout his career:

Cannot get past a player on the wing

When playing MF - did not really ever break the opposition play up / put in a tackle etc - he is unable to play people in - he either goes for the 'killer' 30 yard ball or just knocks it square

He has never really had any pace

---------------------------------------------------------

He made up for these flaws by being a tremendous taker of free kicks - it got such that the scums strategy was to basically fall over around the box to give the specialist a chance - and with our referees - guess what...

But now he seems to have lost that special touch on free kicks - and / or we have other players to take them

And without that he has no real appeal - he would be a liability and taking up a space for little benefit

Ps - him playing for England is an absolute disgrace - that is alll to do with the FA having him as some 'modern icon' and therefore they want him to set a new record for caps - a travesty to the memory of Bobby Morore and others - Capello will be glad when it is done so he does not have to bring him on for little cameos any more

Did you not know COM's is made of Lego and all the staff built it before starting the job? It was part of the contract and a team building exercise... Now you know ;-)
