That should be the plan!

Dzeko scores 2+ goals, do you start him against Swansea?

No chance mate! Negredo bring so much towards the team besides just the goals (and he's doing fine in that regard) in terms of fluidity to our attack and work rate in attack and defense that Dzeko just cannot offer

What if he scores 6 goals, gets 3 assists, makes two goal-line clearances and finishes the game playing in goal and saves a penalty?
Ok then

Agreed with above 100%!!! Meaningless game, really.

Perhaps he's trying to keep the momentum going and/or the club are (correctly) paying attention to the coefficient points on offer for a win.

Who exactly are we going to start...

We don't have backups for Nasri or Fernandinho.

Demichelis as a DM with Garcia. Milner on the wing might work. Have Boyata as CB. Would lack creativity for sure. I wouldn't take off Nasri but would definitely not have Aguero and Fernandinho in there.

Navas instead of Nasri, Fern has to be the gamble due to our lack of depth in central midfield.

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

Anyone just see the band in city square? Pure posing rock god wannabes, trying to play the crowd, met with utter and total apathy. It was funny.

Fair play to the lead singer for having the balls. Not my cup of tea but they were tight and confident. Crowd shot on the screens after he's giving it 'let me hear you!' Was three Japanese tourists and half a dozen people stood, totally bemused.

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

Fantastic to see Huws on the bench,he might just make the grade.

It must be a real incentive to him to know that whatever he does at this point, he's no chance of moving up in the pecking order.

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

BBC saying Kolarov is captain tonight.

In a team containing Hart, Richards, Lescott and Milner?

Weird one that if true

Exactly, I know there's some that want to write him off and ship him off as soon as possible but he's still payed by our club and I still want him to succeed while he's still here and contribute. How can he ever back up his words if fans never want to seem him in the team?

so you would break up one of the most prolific partnerships in world footy to give someone a game who blows more cold than hot imo. soz but no manager or fan would want break up such a partnership in a top flight game just to someone else a run out. it has proved that edin and sergio are no match for negs and sergio

You're choosing to look at it as breaking up one of the most prolific partnerships I'm choosing to want to see that partnership perform for the long term by not relying heavily on them and burning them out. At what point are you going to rest them? We have a lot of games coming up.

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

I was hoping sergio would get a rest but rest of the side is ok and have the chance to show what they have got

even if it's a close game I hope he only plays a half. There is no reason for him to be playing tonight.

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

Need more than one performance to win a spot in this team. Lets see Dzeko have a stormer tonight and keep performing.

He'll get his chance if he does.
