Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

Give the likes of Garcia a game so he's not tempted to keep giving him playing time in away games

We need plenty of goals to go to Munich with to stand a chance of topping the group.
I think we should play a full strength side, hopefully bag 5 or 6 then take key players off

Um. No.
It doesn't work like that.
Goal difference isn't used in the Champions League like it is in the Premier League.
For us to finish above Bayern they have to lose tonight or we have to go to theirs and beat them by at least 3 goals (as they beat us by 2).

I don´t know anybody wrote about this, but Yaya got booked twice, so one more and he will misses the next game.

I think he need to get a yellow card tomorrow because we are already classified and the knockout phase´s matches are more important than Bayern´s match.
aren't player's card counts wiped clean after a certain point, like after group stages?

Yes they are but if he is not booked today and gets one in Munich he'll miss the first last 16 game.

Nasri is in the press conference, so i assume he will start. i wish him and other key player - aguero, yaya, fernandinho, negredo & martin, get rest tonight. but i think some of them will feature in the starting line up, or as a sub. even we already qualified, i have the feeling that Pelle is still consider this game very important.

Or beat them 4-2, 5-3, etc. Well we have scored against them, and nearly twice...

Or does the away goal rule not come in?

(Bayern have only conceded one goal in CL and dropped 4 points in 13 BL games)

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

No matter the results tonight, we will definitely finish 2nd. Recent homeform have probably messed around with peoples brains, but Bayern -especially when it matters- are by far the best side in the world. We are not even close to them right now. Don't let expectations run away with it due to our recent form. AT HOME !
What we should do is try and show people worldwide the game at the Etihad was a complete offday from our point of view and repair some of the damage to our status that night. But maybe we should start by beating Pilzen first. We have qualified for the first time ever in the knock-out phases of the CL, so let's not pretend we are a European force yet. Long way to go.

You're right a 4-2/5-3 etc. win would put us on top of the group
I think that goal difference is used before away goals, in

Re: City Vs Viktoria Plzen Pre Match Discussion Thread

I don't think it will be a trouncing tonight to be honest. We have seen already at Newcastle that our reserves don't pass or create particularly well, and I can't see it tonight. Going to guess at a 2-1 victory.
