Man City vs Reading - Post Match Discussion

Reading were a frustrating team to watch! Time wasting and parking the bus!
I dont think we played badly, just a little slow and lacked some urgency.
We ehould have played more balls on the right wing rather than the left as Zaba and Silva created most chances.
I dont think there is need for all the doom and gloom. At least we didn't concede 3 like United.

Very good all in all i thought.

Reading defended resolutely and played like they really thought a point was acheivable.
That is more than can be said for their performance against utd if i am honest.

We got buched up a bit in the middle and inhibited ourselves slightly.

If we had Clichy then i think they would have broke long before as we already had them under a lot of pressure with little to no width.

Rekik did very well i thought, good positional sense, strong, comfortable on the ball.
Glad we have this lad.

We are still not firing properly but we are getting their and working hard to do so.

I can't ask for more than that.

I thought we played pretty well today overall. Nothing wrong with the effort and commitment and created plenty of chances. Some fantastic one touch football in the first half

Reading put in one of the most negative performances I've ever seen but we could hardly expect any different given how shit their defence has been and to be fair to them their gameplan nearly worked.

Fully deserved 3 points, well pleased to see Barry get on the scoresheet too.

Mike Dean had a poor game, very unlike him. Aguero and Toure should not have been booked. Toure had a good shout for a penalty and no idea why he gave a fk to them when Zabs went down in the box (not that it was a pen either)

Poor performance I felt but what a finish again, this club will never change in toying with our minds. :D

I was so thrilled to see Rekik in the starting 11 when I got to the ground and he did very well, albeit a fairly easy debut. This is the future of our club, forget spending £15million, we have a kid who is good enough to play a part. Two teenagers in our back four and neither looked bothered. Class.

It seems for much of the game we were back to our previous form of having very few ideas and when we did create chances not being clinical enough (looking at you Carlos). Reading defended well but we did not do enough to test them for most of the game, they aren't a good team. One moment of greatness got us out of trouble again but we can't rely on that forever, we need the rags/Newcastle level tempo to become a near permanent thing if we're ever going to be the team we're capable of being, not a once every so often thing. If we could play with that consistency we could piss the league.

First half wasnt too bad, sergio coming deep and linking up with silva. again having non-attacking full backs hurt us as we kept putting poor crosses in. Very poor performance second half. Wrong changes from the mgr. ya ya appalling again.

But we won...

Similar thoughts although I'm not keen on Sergio dropping deep as it took him until near the end of the game before he had his first attempt on goal.

Agreed about Yaya, sick of him trying these stupid passes that just smack of laziness.

Bob left Rekik on for 20 mins too long, I know you're not a big fan of it but we should have gone 3 at the back far earlier - I'd have brought Jimmy on the right and moved Zab to the left.

Crazy playing 2 defensive midfielders and 4 at the back against a team with 10 behind the ball.

TBH until his goal, Barry was utterly woeful and gave away the ball more than I've ever seen him.

Nasty was great, was impressed at how dominant in the air he was against a bruiser of a forward.

Oh, and never a foul for the goal.

am impressed by Rekik
Milner is still better, but Rekik will be a good player as him in the near future

Sorry, but there was no need to play him today unless the orders were from above.......

Another opinion I'm struggling to comprehend. Hyperbole and exaggeration is off the charts
