Today cannot be swept under the carpet because we got a last minute winner, things have to change we cannot keep playing like his it's so one dimensional, slow, predicable and easy to play agains. We cannot keep hoping silva, yaya, tevez and aguero to create something our tactics and how we play has to change, I said it after QPR last year that the way we play has to change its so easy to play against and hoped it would change but it hasn't. Sorry for sounding so pessimistic even though we won but they way we play HAS to change

+1

TBH until his goal, Barry was utterly woeful and gave away the ball more than I've ever seen him.

Another opinion I'm struggling to comprehend. Hyperbole and exaggeration is off the charts

I suggest you watch the full game again then.

I don't need to, he was anything but woeful. He didn't lose the ball once in the first half, and rarely gave it away in the 2nd.

I'd post the stats but you'd just come out with bollocks about "seeing it with your own eyes"

"utterly woeful" to me implies a 2 or 3 out of 10 performance. If that's what you genuinely think then you're entitled to but don't complain if I or others laugh at it

Big 3 points indeed. Was impressed with rekik, the amount of times he was ignored in good space on the wing though, the game was crying out for a bit of width. Roll on boxing day, need a good convincing result to get us going, it will come.

Sorry but Barry was great today (and has been his last few games). Worked his backside off, won most if not all balls and his passing/ball retention was great.

Some people don't know what good play is unless it involves flicks and tricks.

As much as I agree with you regarding Barry not being woeful he was dispossessed a couple of times in quick succession in the first. I think one was a little interchange with Rekik for example.
But aside from those couple of times he showed some real drive etc.

Awful performance

It really, really wasn't

For claiming it wasn't awful?

Laughing out fucking loud at that!

There's no context anymore for some people. I know what an awful performance looks like, I've been watching City for over 20 years, that was not one.

Any game that you comprehensively dominate possession, produce 10 shots on target to their one and deservedly bag 3 points, cannot, by any logical mind be proclaimed to be an awful performance. Like I already said, hyperbole and exaggeration are off the charts again.

Now shove the specs up your arse (linked from the sun no less)

Maybe "utterly woeful" was slightly harsh however I thought he was poor and a 5 out of 10.

If he hadn't bagged the winner people would be viewing his performance far more critically.

People talk about a "lack of tempo".

I hate this phrase as tempo is the measure of speed so you cannot lack it. You have a tempo from Larghissimo (very very slow) to Prestissimo (very fast).

So the criticism is really that we played with a slow tempo.

What do you expect when 6 defenders are sat on their own 18 yard line. There is no point screaming into a brick wall. We need to manoeuvre them out of position and you do this with guile not pace.

Had Barry scored with his header early in the first half the game would have been very different but he didn't and as the game went on we got more and more frustrated. I thought the sub was about the right time and a little earlier than usual. But Unfortunately none of the substitutes had any real influence on our play.

I think in games like this rather than the constant cries for width and pace (we had two fullbacks hugging the touchline today) What we need is to draw the defence out by holding the ball deeper or shooting more often from longer range. Only by drawing deep defences out will we create space behind them to attack.

But on the plus side, 3 points!

Some rag posted a photo of a donkey with regards to Barry a minute or two before he scored, superb.

One of the best things I've read in a long time, brilliant stuff!
