People talk about a "lack of tempo".
What we need is to draw the defence out by holding the ball deeper or shooting more often from longer range. Only by drawing deep defences out will we create space behind them to attack.

But on the plus side, 3 points!
That's the point. They aren't going to come out, they have no reason to. They start pressing about 10 yards passed the 18 then stop. So we have players like Yaya and Silva that are decent at breaking that stuff down. You act as if teams want to hold a high line against us but can't because we are keeping them from coming out. That's not the case, they are just staying still and waiting for a point.

What we started doing towards the end was GIVING THEM the ball, this means they come out of their box thinking they have a chance of scoring thus giving us more room behind.

For claiming it wasn't awful?

Laughing out fucking loud at that!

There's no context anymore for some people. I know what an awful performance looks like, I've been watching City for over 20 years, that was not one.

Any game that you comprehensively dominate possession, produce 10 shots on target to their one and deservedly bag 3 points, cannot, by any logical mind be proclaimed to be an awful performance. Like I already said, hyperbole and exaggeration are off the charts again.

Now shove the specs up your arse (linked from the sun no less)

If we don't score 5 against the bottom of the league we are shite. It's bluemoon law
Don't be silly. I'm pretty sure having 3 shots on target against a team who shipped 5 last game and sit bottom is hardly going to have you thinking its a brilliant performance. Maybe the average performances this season have lowered expectations

Where you getting that from?

It was 10 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20738298

And I haven't seen anyone saying it was a brilliant performance but we still dominated by any measure you care to name.

They will have to come out to close down shots. We rarely shoot from long range but just a few shots on target early will scare opposition into coming out and closing us down.

Exactly, I am not trying to argue we played amazing today, I am just trying to bring up the fact that people freak out and are saying we played worse than we ever have before when we realistically had a 6/10 performance.

From the match day centre on the official site. Sounds right from where I was sat in the ground.

Three points is three points and every game over this busy Xmas period matters it doesn't matter how we did it now we look to the game against the Mackems and try and get them back for last seasons lucky and not at all deserved win over us!

Like I said earlier the average performances this season have dampened peoples expectations.

6/10 in a game where we hardly tested the keeper. Really?
