In the nineties I was having a pint with a Birmingham City fan who referred to us as (and I quote) Manu City.
I replied with "What the fuck did you just say?"
No offence was intended, he'd just always referred to us like that and no one had ever questioned it. Well I was having none of that.

When asked its definitely Manchester City. Only time I say man city is when I sing "oh man city the only football team to come from Manchester " Also once had a license plate holder saying I'd rather be watching man city (only because of limited space) Took it down because I was fed up explaining that it was a football team and not a liking for gay men.

Exiled in the south , so whenever the subject of support arises , I start by saying "Manchester" then a slight pause and usually get the response "ah City fan" because rags down here only ever say "Man" - it's a dead giveaway!
