man city

I've never hard any blue, when verbally discussing us, use the term 'manchester city'. It's just 'City' for me. I've noticed too that people in the media use the term 'City' too, and I think people genuinely understand it's us they're talking about, and not Birmingham City, or any other 'City'. Same with United. Pundits refer to them as United, and people realise it is Manchester United they are referring too, and not any other 'United'.

Fully understand the point made mate but in a country where it's taken for granted the suns shines out of a Blue arse or Green one it's not always that straightforward if you get my drift ;o)

If somebody said to me that they supported City no matter where in the world we were, I wouldn't think they meant Birmigham, Coventry, Exeter or Bristol. I would take it for granted that they meant Man / Manchester City.

Same with United, wouldn't think of Leeds or Newcastle.

Same. I get really annoyed when people say "Man City" - don't know what is it, probably because it sounds to "American" or something.

I always refer to City as "City", or at least make the effort to say "Manchester City".

Depends where i am ....

whenever i visit the likes of Leeds , Sheffield , Liverpool etc , and i tell them i'm a City fan , most people just assume its Man City anyway.

But if i was down South , or in Scotland or Ireland , or further afield still ... then yes , i'd probably say 'Man City' , if only because i can't be arsed saying Manchester !

City for me.

It's actually an interesting point as the Rags are always, absolutely always called Manchester United on every news outlet. I'd imagine a marketing bloke would put an interesting slant on it.
It's when the rags get called "Manchester" thats when i get pissed off

I've heard City called 'Manchester' too !

The only time I know 'man city' is used by City fans is the Mancini song! It's for southerners who think they know summat about us and clearly don't! We are beginning to be known world wide more and more by just 'City'. I always tell folk I'm a City fan and allow them to ask "Manchester City' which they invariably do! We are also getting away from the notion that you only need to say 'Manchester' when yer mean MANUre!

Oh Man City, the only football team to come from Manchester.

We're the famous Man City and we're going to Wembley.

Blues or CITY just thought on, can anyone remember when how long this has been doing the rounds so to speak! " City, City the best team in the land & all the world" It made me laugh may be now ok but wonder what we were like as a team when this chant began!!!!!

Having been given the glad eye by an old gay neighbour, when I was wearing a Man City t shirt my mam sent over.
Man City, gets the thumbs down from me.
