I'm just wondering what the intruder would do to you if you if you interrupted them ? It's clear this guy wasn't afraid and knew how to look after himself.surely trying to stop someone from violating your home and stealing your possessions should mean reasonable force applied ?
I've seen a very very quick description that said it was a frenzied knife attack with premeditation as his friend egged him on. I just wonder what the jury will decide was reasonable

He left the property after the initial stabbing, then went back in to slit his throat.

Chasing after someone who's already left your property, who you've already stabbed in the head, grabbing him and slitting his throat in the front garden is taking it a bit far I reckon. Even in scouseland.

Not everyone has insurance. Some people can't afford it.

In this case they had a fancy door bell - I doubt they were missing the money to pay for insurance and if they prioritised that over insurance I don’t have much sympathy.
