Just got back and wow just fucking awesome !!
Action packed and a great modern take on the Superman story.

Pisses all over shitty batman Imo.

9.5/10

7.5/10

Was very good indeed but the reviews of 9 and 10 out of 10 are a bit mental

Was far from perfect. The CGI in a few places was off and looked a bit like a computer game. Some of it was truly epic though.

Hugely disappointing.

Very superficial, uninvolving and far too much CGI.

It lacked emotion and depth, both in the storyline, which was far too removed from the original, and in the characters themselves.

I left the cinema feeling a bit empty and cheated.
It should have been far better, and, because i was so looking forward to it,i'm gutted!

5/10.

Pretty much this.

I think the people giving it 9/10 and above were hoping it was going to be the greatest movie ever. Sadly, it was nowhere near.

The fight scenes were too fast and some slow motion would have helped.

Costner was great.

The more I think about it the more cheesed off I get.

It really was a poor interpretation, much of the film was over complicated and over elaborate yet it also managed to only skim the the surface of the story offering very little depth.

If its just loud bangs, incredibly OTT action scenes and little to no emotion or character development then I reckon go get your popcorn.

Just on train back from Piccadilly. Just had my mind blown, absolutely brilliant. To be honest cant believe some of the comments about a lack of emotion in particular.

Especially when taking into account many of the scenes revolving around his parents - both sets

Well horses for courses really, I personally thought the latest Batman trilogy was awful - mainly due to silly voices, took itself too serious and complicated subplots.

I really wasn't looking forward to Man of Steel at one point thinking this latest fashion of a "darker" take on superheroes miss the point - they should be flamboyant and spectactular IMO.

But I think Man of Steel got the balance right much more than say The Amazing Spiderman did.

Yes I had to ignore what I thought was a little too much CGI and overlook some parts of of the plot that I found unnecessary, but the new take of the story reinvigorated the character for our age and I think it did well showing the struggles of someone coping with hiding who he is.

I ended up with 6 pairs of 3d glasses due to getting a set free with each kryptonite cocktail you ordered.

I must be superman because it compromised myself pretty well :D

I just need to see it again to take all that action in again properly.

I loved it but that said i am 30 now and have waited since a kid for a good remake so may be bias.

Anyone know if they are making another ?

What particularly did you enjoy about it? because i genuinely thought it was a mess.

The storyline wasn't particularly faithful,it didn't flow, and was far too shallow, the action scenes were ridiculous as they were,in the main, far too furious and messy.

There was no personality to the film,it lacked emotion and humour and i was left simply not caring about any of the characters.

The film became a chore.

As soon as i saw the Avatar type CGI at the start i knew it wasn't going to work.

Also the soundtrack was shite.

I honestly haven't been more let down by a blockbuster than i was with this.
Give me the original,or even the reboot of a few years back, over this as,sometimes, less is a whole lot more.......
