These films always start off so great, nice and slow with a dark edge ... then all of a sudden a baddie appears and theres explosions, machines, gun fire and endless fights which bore the shit out of me

Was I close ?
No.

In one scene the Gallaghers wanked off the whole West Ham squad and they spunked up the ghost of Bobby Moore.

Your loss.

Actually had a dream similar to that.

Man Of Steel load of shit. The worst movie I have seen it was so bad. Flash back flash back flash back the fuckers spent huge money on it but they couldnt splash the cash for the Superman theme tune either. God it was so shit. Also too long for a movie fuck me I cant believe how shit it was. Some high ratings I know I left the cinema saying what the fuck was all that about and I wasnt the only 1.

I ended up with 6 pairs of 3d glasses due to getting a set free with each kryptonite cocktail you ordered.

I must be superman because it compromised myself pretty well :D

I just need to see it again to take all that action in again properly.

I loved it but that said i am 30 now and have waited since a kid for a good remake so may be bias.

Anyone know if they are making another ?

Yep they have pretty much announced the second even if not officially given the green light. A chance that the worlds finest I.e a Bat and Supes team up will follow that with the new version Batman.

DC are hoping that this will kick start the DC Universe something akin to what Marvel are doing with their characters. If all goes to plan expect to see the likes of Wonder Woman and The Flash movies followed by a full blown Justice League. With at least David Goyer and possibly Chris Nolan in all likely hood involved in the broad vision something akin to what Joss Wheadon is doing with the Avengers.

As much as I disliked the Batman films it gets my interest up when a Superman/Batman film gets mentioned. Now I never read the comics with those two and a couple on here have mentioned that Batman is a bit weary of Superman in case he has a God trip considering his power. But really Superman is a good guy and if Batman wanted to start on him he could just flick his finger and smash Batman through 20 buildings so my point is what the fuck would Batman offer in such a film? He's got fuck all on Superman, they say ooh he a smart detective in his own right. So? He's not got xray vision or super hearing which any detective would die for anyway so he'd just slow Superman down! Could anyone explain what direction the comics took the stories?

Character wise they are very different with opposing philosophy's of light and shade, so a lot of the material evolves around that. However they both respect and value each others strengths. Think along the lines of a couple of brothers of opposite character who fundamentally love and respect each other but fight and bicker on the surface. Only to come together and kick the crap out of some knob head who besmirches the family name.

Tactically; obviously superman has the real superpowers because of that he can tend to tackle things head on sometimes without due thought. Batmans super powers are essentially his money and his sense of devotion and self discipline. He tends to be more tactical thinking things through to be one step ahead of the game. Again opposing philosophies which in the correct situation can compliment each other.

This is why Superman is such a shit superhero, he is just too powerful.

Saw it last night...

It was ok but not great. It looked good, in parts but all a bit too earnest for my liking, some big name actors trying far too hard to make the script into something that it wasn't/didn't have time for... It's Sci Fi not historical drama ffs! Too many flashbacks and the fight scenes near the end were a bit ridiculous tbh, esp when you consider how Superman actually, finally,
killed Zod by just twisting his neck... Really? That's all it took? Why did we have to destroy a whole City first then? And why the fuck didn't he save his dad from the tornado after saving the fat bully from the bottom of the fucking river???
As if. I know it's sci fi but come on!

There was potential in it but too much was crammed in between repetitive fight scenes... And I really could've done without the whole shaky camera thing. Oh and Lois Lane's shit but if you like muscles you're in for a treat!

Promised much but delivered little. 5/10

Star Trek was/is far superior as it doesn't take itself too seriously but delivers on action and likeable characters.

Thanks, but I struggle with how that does not make the entire audience just think that Superman could just do Batmans job with one arm tied round his back thus instantly making poor Batman irrelevant.

Well..

I suppose its like 2 evenly matched soldiers fighting one could break the others neck but only when he's in the position to plus the fact that Zod forced his hand into killing him when about to kill that family, Superman didn't want to kill him. His dad told him not to save him because he didn't want him to reveal his powers just like he told him he shouldn't have when he saved that ginger puddin'

This is bollocks, technically he is the only real superhero. Most others are mutants or rich cunts with too much time on there hands

DC comics, fans and hollywood all think you are wrong in the light of such overwhelming opposition I think you lose

I don't get that, he's an alien so he's the only real super hero?

I wasn't that impressed by it. Far to many explosions that became to samey and you couldn't tell who was who in quite a few of them! It seemed to go on for too long as well for me. Some of the camera work was really poor as well.

Probably too much for a 4 year old especially if he's an Avengers fan, it's not as comic booky, he will be bored I reckon also 3D is supposed to be shit.

Have to agree here. It's probably a bit too long for a 4 year old and as much as he will be interested at the beginning I don't think he will be able to keep his concentration to the end. Also, some of the fight scenes are a bit fast and would probably be too hard for him to keep up with.

Take him to see Despicable Me 2 instead.
